When did Heritage start using the long neck tenons on the H150s?

So I saw the picture of the 2010 150 for sale with the long neck tenon. I also have a 2010 150. I'm wondering if mine has one, or did they only do it on certain guitars at first. Anyone know?

I remember in Aug 2011, the former HOC member Patrick telling me to look at the new long tenon. He then discovered they had "just started making long tenon" for almost a year. Heritage didn't think it was that big a deal, so they didn't advertise that they were making long tenon guitars.

Pull out the neck pup of yours on your next string change and see.

Personally, I could care less. I know my four 150s DO NOT have a long tenon, but they sound HUGE!!!

Nothing wrong with long tenon necks but man there is a lot of hyperbole surrounding it. Its not so much the length as much as the fit and craftsmanship involved. I have heard a lot of Heritage 150s with the shorter tenon (although not as short as the standard Gibby) and they typically sound better then the top shelf Gibby's. Its all about craftsmanship and wood, Funny thing is that very few people even knew about this topic until Gibson came up with a new marketing strategy to reinvent their reissues. Fender/Gibson marketing research per 2008 when I was more involved in the scene showed that their customers replaced their gear (guitar and or amp) every 3 years. It's all about marketing. The long tenon may make a difference among Gibson guitars but these same long tenon guitars usually wont sound as huge as an off the shelf Heritage.

Anyone remember the old thread which dicussed this topic in detail? I think it was about 10 months ago.

I think the tenon issue with Gibson's was due to people wanting an exact replica of a '59 etc Les paul. which had the tenon

so all the mojo associated with those '50's guitars led to them implementing it on the historic line....plus charging a premium

I doubt anyone could hear a difference

I think it's cool that Heritage is doing it & not using the marketing scam/strategy Gibson is, to get more money out of people. with their tiered Les Paul models...why not just do it right in the first place?
