smurph1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 since I got my KBP-810 AC-30 clone, I've been really enjoying the chiming chords you get out of it..I almost pulled the trigger on a Jangle Box last year, but now that I've got the right amp it just seems like the right time..It really nails that Beatles Byrds, REM chime and sustain..Kinda spendy but hey it's only (gulp) money..If you are interested just google Jangle Box..I may have to get me an electric 12 string!!
fxdx99 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Have only read about them in guitar mags. Sounds like a neat effect. Looking forward to your report, Scott.
eljay Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 i got one to go w/ my ricks--the ric forum is full of praise for them. slightly noisy, but i had read that in advance. pretty neat effect. my tele 12-str sounds agreeably righteous through the jb. i can imagine that a ric 12er would dazzle. good on ya, scott!

bolero Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 always loved "eight miles high", one of the best things ever recorded with an electric 12 IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH6UnvSlahc
FredZepp Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Oh yeah... some cool tunes can be done with that tone. I use my VG Strat for that kind of thing. I used to have a doubleneck to use for that 12 string tone, but it was too heavy and majorly neck heavy also.
FredZepp Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 There are certain classic guitar tones that never get old. Maybe it was the vintage outboard studio gear, maybe the old tube mics, vintage amps and guitars, etc. JangleBox has captured that sound perfectly and put it in a box, literally. The JangleBox Silver sounds absolutely amazing. It nails the classic Byrds/Beatles clean compressed "chimey" tone. Not that you have to be playing classic rock, or a Rick 12-string, to appreciate this amazing pedal. The JangleBox Silver will also give you a great Nashville "squish" and can be used as a unique clean boost. I looked it up... a compressor/sustainer pedal...
DetroitBlues Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Interesting... I've considered a compressor as I found my wah has a tendecy to sometimes jump the volume a bit.
Hfan Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Jangle Box?? I thought the thread would be about you getting a Ric or a Gretsch.
