Just installed a set of Dimarzio 36th anniversary pups in my 157 today and so far I'm really impressed. I posted a clip to my box site showing how they sound.

Here's the low down on the gear

Heritage 157

Dimarzio pups

Mbox 2 into pro tools

Peavey Delta Blues 210 with Eminence Ram Rods

Tremolo used is the amps trem (second half of the clip only)

Vocals and guitar recorded with a Audio Technica 2020 large diaphragm condenser mic of on axis for guitar.

Reverb and compression used only on vocals. Plug ins were a Univeral Audio 1176 condenser plug and true verb.

Small...I mean TINY amount of compression added to master track. That plug in is Waves C4 compressor plug.

Hope you all enjoy, and also get a chance to poke a little fun at me singing a 90's classic....

Peace

Matt

Sounds great clean. How do they sound to you dirty?

Nice job with the song, you have a great voice.

I have the 36 anni in the neck of my prs. Good p/up for that guitar.

Sounds good in the 157!

Very good recording. I cant think of anything in it to make fun of.

Nice sound and playing. Very articulate sounding pups.

You have a great voice!

Very nice playing and nice singing too - granted I haven't heard that song in quite a while, but to my ears that sounded fairly close to the original tone

Thanks, I'll post a dirty clip tomorrow. I ordered a new dirt box that came in the form of a present from my mother of all people. I'll use that and post a clip in this thread tomorrow afternoon. The pups sound great using my MI Audio crunch box, which is an insanely good pedal for the Marshall in a box thing... It was also in the recent gift. Maybe my mom rocks more than I previously thought...lol

Yeah, the neck pup sounds great, but the recording was actually on my bridge, which you probably guessed...I think I just confused myself....crap...happens too often these days...

Thanks for the kind words on the playing and singing. I'm just getting back into playing music again after a bit of a hiatus, so the encouragement is always nice!

Excellent! You should use those talents in front of an audience if you don't already.

Thanks! Last time I played professionally was as a jazz trumpet player a few years ago. I left that world because as good as I was at it, I just didn't connect with the music. (you'd think I would have figured that out before 16 years of professional playing all around the globe, but hey, I'm an idiot I guess)

I'm not quite ready to play guitar in public yet, but hopefully with more work this year I can maybe start a band to have as a hobby on the side...
