I'm a dumb guy, I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Alice in Chains song Check My Brain but there is a first fret low E string bend/release that repeats through the whole song and last night I was playing that on an acoustic, knowing I would pick up the new amp today, man are my fingers sore.

Ok, I didn't really tell anyone what I had asked KBP to build me, and to be honest he will have to give all the particulars when he gets time.

All I can say is it's supposed to be basically a Tweed Super, I think tweaked for more output to be somewhere around 40 watts.

It's a pretty little thing, the fit and finish is at least as good as anything I've ever had before, and better than any mass produced stuff on the shelf now days. The inside of the chassis is better looking than my 66 super by far.

This amp is a wicked thing, right now I have it running into a Kustom cab with a single 12inch Celestion 70/80 in it (best speaker on hand right now), and even when it's clean it sounds like it's about to scream at any second, and when cranked to the breakup point it is really sweet and singing, (really loud though :headbang: )

I guess the bottom line is, I really like this amp. I had planned on running a stereo amp setup with my amps on either side of the stage, with streo chorus and delay, and I think with this amp it's going to be badass, and for smaller gigs with just one amp this one will get the spotlight for a long time I'm sure!

Thanks Brian great job!

Gonna give my fingers a rest for a couple hours and work on another project, later I'm going to try to post some clips if I can figure out how.

Ha... that says it all. KBP is the stuff.

It's great that you grabbed one... It'll be cool to see some pics and hear more about it...

Beautiful. Man, Brian has been busy - cranking these beauties out on a fast pace. Congrats on your new amp. NAD, always a fun day, indeed.

Very nice, enjoy it Trouble. I especially enjoyed the naked chassis porn. Saw you had a meter hooked up, checking the bias?

So, this is a 5E3 with bigger iron and 6L6s? Or something else?

Looks fabulous :)

Yep that's it exactly - Tweed Deluxe style circuit with bigger iron and 6L6's, adjustable bias and a beefier power amp section; a lot to squeeze into that little chassis :)

Glad to hear it arrived safely

It's great I love it. Thanks so much an I already got some ideas for another one but I'm going to have to wait for probably a year at least or I might be pushing into the dirvorce territory.

I took it out to my practice room and cranked it up and tried all the different inputs and put a couple overdrives in front of it. When I came back in my wife said that thing sounds really good, from the bedroom, where I was trying to take a nap! :icon_scratch:

You are a truly master of your art.

I surmise its the tranformer H. Wow trouble, that is awesome. Does Brian have a life outside of amp building? A wife? A job? A custom Heritage he likes to play? I have a feeling he crams all that into his world! He is simply INCREDIBLE !!!

Input and output transformers, Pete. I don't understand how it works but it seems the further within the transformer's limits your amp works, the better for the performance of the amp. Let's hope KBP jumps in and explains this properly.

... better by far to buy power and output transformers rated for much more than your needs. Big iron = big tone. Output transformer has biggest effect on tone of any single part in a tube amp.

Ok not sure if this will work but I have a clip. Really, really poor recording quality, the guitar completely overwhelms the background track at times but the best I could do with what I've got. The background track is just something on the boss RC 3 loop pedal. The amp actually sounds way better in person.

Man I REALLY dig the vibe, but I agree you should redo the track. I was really enjoying it, but like you said the guitar is just too hot.

THANKS for posting a clip!!!!
