nac Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Hi guys my name is Rob and I recently found this place after looking for a H150. About 6 months ago I picked up a H535 and like it so much I've begun looking for a H150 as well. IMO, I think Heritage guitars are a bit of a hidden gem. My 535 is just an amazing guitar. Anyway here's a quick pic, glad to be here and hope to add a 150 soon
TalismanRich Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 No doubt the 535 is a great guitar. I went the other way, got the 157 first, and then found the 535. However you get there, its worth the trip! You'll find that most 535 owners think its the best of the breed.
H Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 That's a beauty, Rob! We even have a few over here in the UK
yoslate Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 ...oh...man........................................!
koula901 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Rob Congrats on a beautiful 535, and, welcome to the cult!
bolero Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 nac that's a fantastic photo...and a killer looking gtr welcome & congrats!
High Flying Bird Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 IMO, I think Heritage guitars are a bit of a hidden gem. I suspect you are not alone here.
eljay Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Welcome, nac! You'll get little argument on this forum about the greatness of H guitars . . .
skydog52 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 A classic beauty. Welcome aboard Rob. It's a good place!
yoslate Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 A classic beauty. Welcome aboard Rob. It's a good place! Don't know if it's just the photo, or if the binding is darker than the usual creme. And with that pickguard, and the Kluson type tuners, that looks very much like the 535 Patrick had for sale. Some of you old timers will remember that name.... If so, that's a primo piece. Had I not just bought mine, when that one came up for sale, I'd have been all over it!
blueox Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Congratulations on your H-535! It's an all-around guitar that can handle a great variety of musical styles.
tsp17 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 welcome. my first Heritage was a 535 similar to yours. they are a little bit like rabbits. i sold it, but it then it multiplied into a 575 MH and a 150. now i am back in the hunt for that 535 again (or a Millie). can't help it. be prepared, and warn your wife if you have one.
chico Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 sweet guitar there Rob, and welcome. love the patina that photo shows.
Blunote Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hidden gem? Yep, that sums it up nicely. Beautiful 535 New Guy! I'm guessing OSB.
DetroitBlues Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Welcome to the Forum. That's a beauty of a 535. Congrats!
Guest HRB853370 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Welcome to the HOC community. I love my 535's as well as my 555, which is the more appointed sibling to the 535. They are all my keepers too! Yours is a beauty, enjoy it.
Genericmusic Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 That is one fine looking guitar. Congratulations and welcome.
paul144 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Thats a great looking 535...I also had one a few years ago and sold it, but just got this one a few weeks ago. Took it to an open jam last night and it just killed...lots of compliments on tone & looks (and a few on my playing)...it has Schaller pickups which sound amazing. Jazz to rock! I swapped out the roller bridge & tailpiece for an ABR & more traditional stop tail. Having a guitar tech business, I've had a lot of 335s come in the shop and the Heritage is just a better playing, lighter guitar at like half the price.
soulfood Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Welcome to the HOC, congratulations ! Thats my H535 Blue
schundog Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Welcome to the HOC, Rob. GREAT picture; I LOVES me some 535! Mine is definitely ONE of my favorite guitars. I don't know where you are located, but check out the Parson's Street Pilgrimage threads below. In early August, those of us lucky enough to get vacation time live close enough converge on Kalamazoo, MI, to tour the Heritage plant and then eat, drink, and make music and friends at brentrocks family farm. It is one of the major highlights of my year, and I doubt you would find anyone who has been to one who will say any differently.
iim7v7im7 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I hope you enjoy your new guitar... Mine says "Hi"
