MartyGrass Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Floyd has been spraying finishes on guitars and mandolins for over half a century on Parsons Street. His health is failing and he is receiving hospice care. While the beautiful bursts he produced always come to mind, I marvel at his goldtops. No one has ever done them better.
dbetts41 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Mark... thanks for the information. thoughts & prayer going out to Floyd & his family.

FredZepp Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 So sorry to hear of these developments , Floyd is one of those great quality people that we love at the Heritage Plant.
111518 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 This is sad news. I'm reminded of a piece I once read in which Ted McCarty spoke of the strengths of K'zoo guitars, and at the top of the list was the beauty of their sunbursts. I never had a chance to meet Floyd, but he was part of a special tradition of craftsmanship and artistry.
yoslate Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Best wishes to Floyd, his family, and the good folks at Parsons Street.

Gitfiddler Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 My prayers go out to Floyd and his family. The bursts done at Heritage as well as many done back in the old Kalamazoo Gibson days, are some of the most beautiful ever. Thanks for the beautiful work, for so many years!
DC Ron Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Very sad. Don't expect I will leave as many smiles behind as Floyd.
