LW guitars and feedback in high gain situations

Friends,

I'd like to hear from those who have light weight (chambered) 150s and whether they seem to feedback more, during high gain use, than their solid brothers that are not chambered. What is the collective wisdom, here? If they do feedback, do you handle it the same as anyother guitar that feeds back (i.e., get out of the way of speaker, go off to the side, get potted hums, etc.).

2) Tone - do you notice a difference in tone between the LW and solid, non-chambered bodies. Do you think they're 'woodier' sounding, or will it come off with that traditional LP/set neck sound we all know and love?

3) Sustain - while we're on the topic, do you notice a difference in sustain between LW and solid?

thanks for your comments.

I haven't noticed a feedback issue. If it is more prone to feedback than a solid body, it is only slightly more, not as much as a H535.

The tone is woodier, meaning more mids. Acoustically, you can feel the resonance.

There may be a little less sustain, but I haven't noticed it.

So, you miss that beautiful H150 VSB!

the pretty boat anchor, that I felt was too pretty to play, um . . . no.

On my chambered Gibby LP..

the only difference in "feedback', is perhaps a bit more resonance at high volumes ( very slight ) . Nothing negative, I like it.

Mine is a bit louder acoustically (unplugged) than usual perhaps.

Sustain is as good as any other LP, no difference there.

(I think that the Gibby version has slightly more wood taken out than the Heritage, a slightly larger chamber )

I'd encourage a LW Heritage... I really like the idea.

I have to stick my LW 150 in the face of the speaker cab to get feedback. Even in a band setting.

I have a 170 2nd Edition chambered. I used to have the solid body 170 1st edition. I didn't notice any feedback issues comparing the solid body to the chambered 2nd edition.

Tone wise, I could hear a slight difference when I ran it through my effects (might have been the HRWs compared to shallers). I can feel the body resonating more with the chambered 170.

The biggest difference I believe is the weight/balance. I find the chambered more comfortable. I know you were originally inquiring about the 150, but I think a 170 would go pretty good with your 137DC ...
