Welcome to the HOC, Sforsa. That's a very nice looking goldtop. I looked at your pictures and said... that can't be!! .... it IS. That's Buddy Whittington. Very cool that you got to jam with him. He's a fantastic blues player, one of my favorites. I've never had to opportunity to see him live. Its almost as if he only plays in the UK or Texas. Do you live anywhere near Istanbul? Yavuz is from that area.
Spectrum13 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Nice Goldtop! Hope you got a thin O shape neck for playing pool with that 150. I thought Buddy was a BluesBreaker not a Rackbreaker.
Fernando Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Wow!!!! How did you get to jam with Buddy Whittington??? He's awesome! Check out his performance with John Mayall in the John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert DVD. Best tone on the stage (with a Dr. Z, no less), hands down. Congratulations on your guitar, and on having jammed with Buddy, and welcome to the HOC.
JeffB Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Cool guitar, cool pics, cool story. Welcome to the HOC.
blueox Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 That's a classy H-150. I enjoy Buddy Whittington on John Mayall's "Stories" CD, one of his best.

But I know Yavuz Akyazici, he is one of greatest guitarist in Turkiye. He is very cool jazz player and he uses Heritage 575 Custom . Do you mean him? Buddy is one of my favourite blues player, I had known him before went to TX. I saw a banner in Fort Worth "Buddy Whittington live" and after he is came same place as a guest of jam session. I went there with my Goldie and I met with him, and chatted. He liked my H-150 and he said he played h-140 before. He was so kind and I requested him to jam. He modestly accepted and we jammed. That was it Wow!!!! How did you get to jam with Buddy Whittington??? He's awesome! Check out his performance with John Mayall in the John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert DVD. nachogrande Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 sforsa is a great guy and I know him in person. He's an officer at Turkish Air Force. In fact, that was me who pushed him hard to get that particular GT I remember that he was in TX for some F-16 upgrade seminar. Lucky bastard found that particular opportunity to jam with Buddy himself... Can you believe it?
Steiner Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Ah... The old go for an F-16 upgrade, come back with a Heritage trick. I like the way you spiced it with Buddy.
Gitfiddler Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Ah... The old go for an F-16 upgrade, come back with a Heritage trick. I like the way you spiced it with Buddy. F-16?? Oh why not just upgrade to an F-22?!!
barrymclark Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 This is just one of the coolest threads I have read in awhile. So glad to see different countries coming on board. ...and that is one HOT goldtop. You know... I have never been too much a goldtop fan... but every time I see a Heritage goldtop, I have the urge to own one! Congrats on that and your jam time with one of your favorite players. ...and I agree that Yavuz is a VERY good player. I have enjoyed his videos.
barrymclark Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 F-16?? Oh why not just upgrade to an F-22?!! Shame they don't build those anymore. They built them just up the road from where I work at Lockheed. My daughter (who is in college early) went on a tour of Lockheed with a few of her engineering classmates and got to watch a C130 being built. They were trying to get future employees. Luckily, because of her path into college, she doesn't even have to apply to Georgia Tech. All she has to do is pass her Advanced Academy and she can essentially walk right into GT and take a seat. After some time there, Lockheed will come calling. Very proud papa. I will be SO jealous if she gets to design and assist in the building of such awesome aircraft vehicles.
