chaze Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What is the meaning of CM in H150 or H140? i heard H140CM stopped production but only H140. Is it true? thanks!
DetroitBlues Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 In other words, its got a really killer grain on the top. Most likely a flame maple top.
FredZepp Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 On their website.. the H-150CM is now just H-150 and the same for the H-140CM is now just H-140. But you can see the specs for the H-140 still say that it's a curly maple top... H 140 2nd Edition Specifications : 24- 3/4” scale 22 fret bound dot rosewood board Joins at 16th fret Solid mahogany neck 17” length solid mahogany body Upgraded curly maple, cream bound top 12- 1/2” width with 1- 5/8” rim

bolero Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 there are also the extremely rare & collectable Larry & Moe maple tops
SouthpawGuy Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 CM could also refer to "carved maple", to distinguish from a 150P built with poplar.

drfie Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I've asked Ren about this and he said the meaning is "curly maple." What is confusing is that some opaque guitars are designated CM and I doubt anyone would care what the top looks like if it's covered up. Maybe that is the reason they decided to drop the designation. dan
