gpuma Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 I read in an old thread that along with HRW, Heritage Guitars was discontinuing the availability of D-VIP because of troubles sourcing the mini switches. I did not understand whether this was a temporary thing or they actually stopped providing D-VIP at all. Also, I am waiting to get my first H150 with HRW delivered. Would it be worth to get it modified with D-VIP, provided it is still possible?
brentrocks Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 the best thing you could do is call Heritage....see where your guitar is and talk to Ren

Of course, only you can decide if it is worth the upcharge, but if the factory would do it, the tonal options would be attractive, depending upon your style of music. How long ago did you order your H-150, assuming this is a custom order?

Picking it up next weekend and counting the milliseconds.

Okay, I get it now. That trans-blue will be a stunner there in blues-city and no doubt will sound as good as it looks. If you talk to Ren, and they don't do D-VIP anymore, you could go with just a coil tap switch. I enjoy that option on my H-110. But just as it is, you'll have gobs of tone.
ledzef Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Instead of modding the top of the guitar just get 2 push/pulls. Decide on which knobs you want to do what, schematics are online or any local tech should be able to do it. Just make sure your pups are 4 coil.
