DetroitBlues Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 may be a bit off topic.... I am from HongKong. I want to know any online shop sell Prospect? IT IS SUPER HARD TO FIND!!! You can contact an authorized dealer and they could get one for you. Chances are you'll be ordering a new one. Used ones are few and far between on the used gear market.
tulk1 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Hey guys, I got one too! Yes sir!! And I do believe yours is the one that inspired mine.
chaze Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Welcome Chaze. The Heritage site lists Tom Lee Music in Hong Kong as a dealer. I don't know if they are active or not. You might give them a call. Your best bet might be to work through Wolfe Guitars. He will ship around the world and his guitars are usually listed on Gbase. There aren't any "online" dealers like Musicians Friend that carry Heritage. The next step is Ebay, although the Prospect isn't a common model compared to the H150 or H535. Good luck with your hunt. thank you for your help! Tom Lee is too big and they dont care the small brands. If i ask them to ship one, probably wait for 6 mths and very expensive. I am talking to wolfe guitar but i lost the reply in the middle suddenly. i may call them directly.
Hbom Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Do we have pics of the Academy / Academy Custom? Would love to see them. I'm a bit late to the party, but here's a pic of my AC. I was looking for a smaller body after a shoulder injury, found this one and absolutly love it. ]
schundog Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Nice millie! I think that's an Academy Custom, Will. He says it's his "AC."
soybean Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 as promised: http:// Eljay, how did you get a Prospect with trapeze tailpiece? Never seen one of those before. To the guys asking about the Academy model; I have owned four Academy Customs and still have two. They are great guitars. The body changed slightly over the years, so some are like a single cut Prospect and some are a bit different.
tbonesullivan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 This is not helping my prospect gas. Though, I don't think any guitar can top my H-158 Millennium. Also, inside my Kahuna, the model number is: H-Kahuna
tbonesullivan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 It's an artist model for uh... uh... Chris Bovard. http://www.rmsides.com/t-chrisbovard.aspx It looks like a demented H150
DavesNotHere Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I've wondered if the Prospect and Academy names originated with something local to Kalamazoo. One theory I have is that they wer named for Prospect and Academy, two streets in the West Main Hill area of town. Academy is basically the main thoroughfare of Kalamazoo College and runs roughly east-west. Prospect street intersects West Main on the north side running roughly north south and then to the south of west main it becomes Prospect Place I believe and meanders back to the east. The two streets never actually intersect, but with the two being in such close proximity I wonder if it is more than coincidence? I always thought the Millenium was named for the new millenium since it came out around 2000? dan That is exactly what Marv told me on Friday at the factory when he was checking out my Parsons Street . He said that Lane Zastrow (sp?) insisted on having a model named Parsons Street and he did the Parsons Street design. So Marv and Jim named the Prospect and Academy after the streets. And the Millenium was indeed named for the turn of the new millenium. Marv and my Parsons Street
JackBaruth Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I'm not one to defend the "G" crew but the CS-336 and ES-339 simply have better proportions than the Prospect IMO. This might simply be because the "ears" don't reach past the rest of the body.
DetroitBlues Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I finally had a chance to look at a couple Prospects, Jack is sort of right as they have more pronounced "ears and the 336 is more proportional to the 335. But the Prospect actually does look so much better in person.
tulk1 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 A LOT better in person. Still my fav Heritage design, tho'. I have one sitting out most days. Love it and it's MM Ears. I believe they look more pronounced because it's a slightly longer body than the 336.
bolero Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 yeah I had a prospect & regret selling it, it was fantastic!!
Hbom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Nice millie! I think that's an Academy Custom, Will. He says it's his "AC." Yes it's an Academy Custom. Sorry for the confusion.
Hbom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I should add to this that I don't play this guitar as often as I should. It's a '97 model and has a skinny neck that takes a bit for me to switch back & forth from, so I tend not to play it alot. Then every once in awhile I start thinking I don't play it enough and should probably sell or trade it. So I get it out, plug it in, close my eyes, and spend an hour or two reminding myself why I don't really want to sell this one. I'm sure there are better guitars around, but not in my rack. Just the right combination for me.
