mikelly Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 hi, mike here, las vegas, nv. greetings to all. Just thought you might want to see what i'm sure is a rare heritage. it's a c-code, so 1986, been dragging it around for about 25 years. this guitar was part of a run of 10 commissioned by Art Hilton of albany, NY, for the 25th anniversary of Hilton Music. the 12 fret inlay reads Hilton Music Silver Anniversary. serial C21102, i'm pretty sure that these were the only silvertops made by heritage. please correct me if i'm wrong. any additional info would be appreciated, has anyone ever seen another? i know 2 were messed up, one burned in a fire, one was drilled for a floyd rose tremolo (sacrilege!). i bought it new in 86 at hilton music, troy, new york. wondering if any others survived.
Millennium Maestro Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 very cool, what does the inlay @ 12th fret say.
SouthpawGuy Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I do believe we've seen one of these for sale before, maybe three years ago ?
skydog52 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 First one I've ever seen. Looks like a H-140. Very cool!
MartyGrass Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 There was one on eBay last year. It included a letter from Heritage explaining its history.
DetroitBlues Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I've seen one like it, but I think it was a gold top with a special inlay on the 12th fret similar to that
FredZepp Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Nice one.... I seem to remember seeing one with the inlay at the 12th fret... but it's been a while and I can't remember where... in any case your's is a sharp looking 140..
mikelly Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 does anyone know if those knobs are stock? it's been so long, i forgot if i changed them......i was a much younger and more foolish man 27 years ago. dont think i changed them, tho. im thinking if i did, i would have saved the stock ones, anyone have these knobs on a stock guitar? thanks, mike

Although Heritage likes to put amber knobs on a lot of things.. that one needed something different and they've used them on others. But who knows after all of these years..... they do look right in any case. My cherry red 140 had amber knobs, and I didn't feel that they looked right. So I bought some cream ones for it.
