FredZepp Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I have some pics that I just snapped of the Centurion in the last couple of days, and didn't want to seem like I'm trying to take over other threads with posting all of these. I was trying to capture a good shot of the headstock, capture the colors of the fretboard inlays, get a pic showing the flame of the top and quilt of the sides while getting the finish color correct... I'm still working on it ...
kbp810 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 You can take over any thread on any day at any time with pics of the Centurion... and it'd be alright by me!
Millennium Maestro Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 That is total heritage pedigree! I envy the possession of such a remarkable instrument.
DetroitBlues Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Not one bad angle in any of the pictures. Each one highlights a feature or wood grain not seen in the previous picture... Very lovely guitar!
Gitfiddler Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Ya know, I always tell my wife that there is no such thing as a bad looking Ferrari or Corvette. Now I need to update that saying to include...no such thing as a bad looking photo of your Centurion!
FredZepp Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Thanks for the kind comments everyone.. as I look at these pics, it seems like it would make a nice section in a Heritage coffee table book...
pegleg32 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 It is a remarkably beautiful guitar Fred. It is the only Heritage I can think of that should command a 5 figure value.
skydog52 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 That's the true meaning of a upgraded ultra wood package! Stunning
Steiner Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 A perfect thread Sir FredZepp. You've always been conservative with showing her; never pretentious or overbearing. It is fitting that she has her own thread. You have done a wonderful job capturing her beauty. Thank you for sharing.

FredZepp Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 He wouldn't let me play it at psp iv, he said I shouldn't even look at it...I guess Ill always be just a little hurt.. Ha...
MartyGrass Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Nothing was spared in making the Centurion. Orville would have been right proud.
bolero Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 total class, that thing is...Yoda approves, he does
heritagefan7 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 one of a kind for sure---just a thing of beauty!
ledzef Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Hoping this works since I promised you a pic of this guitar since last PSP. But I think this is the inspiration for your guitar.
FredZepp Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Hoping this works since I promised you a pic of this guitar since last PSP. But I think this is the inspiration for your guitar. Hey.. any idea what year that is..? The way the logo is done.. is this factory made or aftermarket customized perhaps..?
ledzef Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 It was up for sale at HeritageAuctions, I want to say it is a 1950? Can't remember but not having luck looking up this particular model on the net.
FredZepp Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 You know.. Marv Lamb told me at one of the PSP's , that he made the template ( or whatever it's called ) for the Centurion's headstock. He seemed to remember that another Heritage was made with that headstock shape, but not a fancy guitar like the Centurion. I've never found any clue of it on the net... maybe one day it will show up.. He thought that it might be another hollowbody, maybe like a 575 or something..
rjmajik Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 What a beautiful piece of art! Many people purchase various forms of art . . . paintings, prints, blown glass, etc. Most of those pieces are hung on a wall, placed in a corner and only to look at and admire. HOC supporters are able to own great art pieces that actually provide a practical purpose, years of enjoyment, fun and an artistic outlet that is fueled by whatever your imagination can create.
