Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I'm very glad that I found it! I don't have any Heritage guitar yet but I'll get one soon.

It's very hard to pick one out of Sweet 16 and H575 custom. Right now, I wound say Sweet 16 %65,  H575 custom %35.

But Does anybody know why Sweet 16 list price is so much higher than H575?

H575 around $4800

Sweet 16 around $6510.00

Without those fancy cosmetic things, scale length difference and sweet 16 has one pick instead two,,, are pretty much all.

is the still higher price worth it?

Maybe better wood were used?

Please tell me the difference between Sweet 16 and H575 custom if you played them both.

Thanks!

Hey,

Keep in mind that you can configure each guitar any way you like.

The Sweet 16 has a maple neck, spruce top, and a 25.5 scale length, standard.  The H575 has a 24.75 scale length, mahogany neck, maple top, standard.

I have a H575 on order, pimped out like a Sweet 16, but with the H575 specs.

Main thing is the top wood, neck wood, and the scale length.

Design your dream guitar and let Mr. Wolfe decide if it's a 16 or a 575.

Also, you can order upgraded woods - $200, I think, for that option.

Can you say mindfuck?

One more thing.....

The 16 has an ebony fretboard, standard.  The 575, rosewood.

Again, design your dream guitar and talk to Jay.  Jay is great.  Talk to him.  Tell him what you want and he'll set you up.

Thanks for checking, Bob.

Tap tuning is an extra-cost option offered on all of the Heritage full hollow archtops.  The only model listed on their website including tap tuning as standard is the fully pimped-out American Eagle.

The whole tap tuning process starts with the wood selection and continues during the entire carving process as the luthier checks and rechecks the tonal frequencies as wood is shaved off.  That is VERY labor intensive and time consuming.

In any case, Sweet 16's are my all time favorite Heritage model.  (Yes, I've probably said that a few times here)  :)

When I talked with Jay about tap tuning, I believe it was an $800 option and best suited for guitars that are played acoustically more often that not.  The tap tuning turns it in to a feedback machine when plugged in.
