Hi new guy here. I have only been aware of The Heritage for a few months. I was looking for an alternative to a Gibson LP. I happened onto the Heritage name doing an internet search. I found one at a local shop near me and bought it.

It's an H157 Cherry Sunburst. It is gorgeous to say the least. The sound and feel is amazing. Its also the best smelling guitar I have ever had. This thing smells terrific! I thought it would cost way more than it did. What a bargain. I want to get an H150 also.

Welcome in from the land of the unwashed masses and into enlightenment. I heard about Heritage from my Uncle who has one, and after that it didn't take too long to figure out what he was making all the fuss about. I went looking for a 150 and ended up with a 157 which has turned out just awesome.. As you say.. its a bargain.. but more than that.. now matter how you slice it, they're great guitars... Not sure about the smell though.. Not sure mine smells of anything. The case for my strat smells awefull, and I've no idea what that is about. :P I think I'm happy not smelling anything..  ;D

Welcome to club, and congrats on the guitar.. Local etiquette usually wants you to post a picture of your baby.. so keep up tradition.

Nice 157. From the StL area probably means Eddies or Mojo's. Close?  And welcome to the club. Be sure you get a gtr stand that is non-reactive to nitro. Just saying ....

welcome, I think you will find this a nice place to hang out.

how do you like the hot plate...

I love it. I've had it since the mid 90s ish.

Both of the Heritage guitars that I bought, "first owner," have that smell.  These were strait from the factory in '90 & '96.  When I get them out today they still smell the same.  Like the smell of a lover from long ago.  It is a powdery type smell isn't it?.

Val, get yourself a 535 next.  It's a wicked guitar.

I'm sure the smell is the nitro finish.

Perhaps. It could also be mating season and you have been determined to be a possible suitor.

Welcome.

I'm right down the road from you. My 150 I knabbed from Eddies earlier this year and it's as good a LP that I've ever played or heard. My  535 was from Mojo, both pretty cool stores. Heritages are addictive ;D

Got my 535 from Mojo's last fall when we were over in Edwardsville for a dog show. Bobs a nice guy.

I got mine from Mojos. I live right near them. The only issue I had with the guitar was the string spacing of the two E strings. I felt they were a tad close to the edge of the neck. I bought a bone blank and made a new nut. worked out really good. Stays in tune really well.

I'd like to get a 150 also.

Are you an Edwardsville resident? We get up there every year in Sept/October. (A friend of ours holds a dog show on her farm.) Last year Mojos had 3 H535s at the old price, along with a couple of 150s. Almost wish I'd bought another.

I live just a few miles south of E'Ville in Troy. My mom has an awesome west highland terrier and our lives sort of orbit around the dog. We're dog lovers. She lives nearby. She might have been to that show.

We've stayed in Troy when the hotels are full in E'ville. (got to remember that acronym!!). Its an Irish Wolfhound show, but I wonder if your mom might know the lady that puts it on. She does the Mississippi Valley shows as well.

Any idea what Mojos has hanging on the wall? Heritage or otherwise? I talk to Bob every now and then. But hate to bother him if I'm not buying, you know.

The only 2 LPs they had were a goldtop and the 157. I was pretty distracted with the 157 so I can't really remember honestly.
