To scratch or not to scratch.

My H-150 Goldtop P90 is still, naked without a pickguard.

I sent an email to Heritage resulting in this answer:

"We are presently not installing fingerrest on our guitars receiving the LOLLAR PU's."

By now I'm not so sure what to do. Mount the G''''' style scratchplate, make

a Heritage fingerrest or keep it nude.  :undecided:

You're either going to scratch it, or drill holes in it and cover the beauty of the guitar itself. Just play the dang thing...

you'll both be glad you did.

Jepp. That might bee exactly what I'm going to do. :)

Nowadays it is cool to have a worn out guitar. I'm just waiting to see a Les Paul with a scratched hole through the body. ???

I would consider this pure. Purely historic & purely traditional! 8)

FWIW, if your 150 had a flamed top or where you could see the wood on the top, I'd keep the PG off. But with Goldtops PGs rule and are a must! 8)

Here's my philosophy: Painted wood--pickguard!  Flamed--pickguard off!

My H150 in ASB came w/pickguard.  I wouldn't  have ordered it with, but since it came that way w/the holes drilled, I keep it.  I find it is a good finger rest when I'm not using a pick too.

But if I got a new one from the factory, I'd probably not get a pickguard.

Leave it like it came.

yeah, i hate unfilled holes

There are no holes for or after a pickguard/scratchplate/fingerrest, yet.

Me too hates unfilled holes - in the guitar.

If I decide to attach it, I would go for screws and screwdriver instead of nail and hammer
