Ned Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 All credit goes to Lance for a perfect transaction. Just about perfect - except for all of you running the broken headstock thread - it was a long 6 UPS days from Florida to New Mexico. I am sleeping pretty well again. My OCD flared pretty bad and I have not been too interested in cameras and computers and fiddly things. I have logged some hours on the 575 and yes, unbelievable tone, volume, sustain, crispness, clarity of notes, etc, but also incredible sensitivity - dynamics. Amazing. In the right hands, this would be a very expressive instrument. Interestingly, super easy to play. I hit things on her that I most often miss on the 16 despite the scale length fingerboard and similarity of neck profile. No two snowflakes are alike..... Starting with a family shot (in the customary tree pose) I just got a big lesson in tone woods, I've been thinking about this for a while and a big badly composed shout-out to the great state of Michigan
kbp810 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Ned, what are you and that 575 acoustic doing around, say, August 3rd? I know a small bridge about a half hour north of Kalamazoo you should come visit. Happy NGD!
Ned Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Lance was planning on bringing her. Something disrupted his plans.....Brent........
FredZepp Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 That is one incredible Heritage... you chose wisely. With that and the Sweet 16, you can demostrate some quality craftsmanship from Kalamazoo ... that's for sure. Congrats on the new Heritage.
DavesNotHere Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Nice family portraits! Is that a 'Cuda, 'Vette, Valiant......?
Horace Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 You need a twin to help you play both those. That 575 is a guitar for the ages. Lucky you ! Horace
DetroitBlues Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Congrats!!! That is a real stunner. Can't believe Lance let her go. Fantastic guitar.
Gitfiddler Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 From your photos, ALL of your gitfiddles are acoustics! The Sweet 16 sounds great with or without an amp, especially with round wound strings. This is a great photo...
Ned Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 I am stunned by their beauty! Me too. Very nice to live with such beautifully made instruments. and to mr fiddler, I have a coule of elctric guitars but they are not getting much play these days. Nothing with an H on it.
heritagefan7 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Beautiful--what a great NGD! I hope they bring countless enjoyment.
Steiner Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Nice guitar! Old Big Bob will face-palming for many years because of that sale. Congrats!!!
Ned Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 Thanks everybody, Shoud i be concerned that "Bob" has my address? I bet he is going all "mods and rockers" right about now on his 357. He did pretty well himself It will take a long tine for you all to think of this as my guitar. I am already there. Seems like an old friend. N
Guest HRB853370 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 And I never knew that Lance owned "anything" without a bigsby handle on it! Nice guitar, but you better use humidfiers if you are out in NM.
