midnight59lp Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hello All, I'm a new comer here and about to buy a 2001 H-550 but wanted to get some feedback or help. Its an online purchase so no trying out the neck, although this is a reputable seller and a 24 hour approval but expensive restocking fee (97.00). I used to own a nice Golden Eagle with one black pickup from the early 90's. Would the neck on the 2001350 be similar to the neck on the 1993 Eagle? Thanks for the input. Mike
DetroitBlues Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 That's hard to say. Being a mid-2000's it should be thicker than a 60's style neck... Not sure if that helps.... They don't have any details for you?
RJLII Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 The 1994 H-550 I used to own had a rather slim neck that I just couldn't bond with. It was a really nice guitar otherwise. I'd ask the seller to take a few measurements if that sort of thing is of concern to you.
DetroitBlues Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 The earlier Heritage models had thin necks and they have been changing as customer's preferences have been changing over the years. Most of the newer stock models have much thicker necks.
Gitfiddler Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 As suggested, check with the seller for the neck profile. If he cannot measure it, ask for a description of its size/shape. (Slim C, Medium C, Medium D, Chunky D with shoulders, etc.) My '95 is for sale (Local Consignment on Craigs List) and has a Medium C shaped neck that gets a bit thicker as you come up the neck towards the body. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/msg/2944466392.html
