Desperately Seeking Snowball

Hey folks, first time post here. I was talking guitars with a friend a few days ago (as we tend to do!) and we got on the Les Paul discussion. More specifically the fact that I've bought and sold 8 of 'em in the last decade trying to find the right one. I explained "Ya know, I just don't connect with any of 'em like I did with my first one." which was a Heritage H150CM I played for ten years. It was my first serious guitar, I was 15 and had saved my kid-job money for two years to buy it. "Well why would you get rid of it then?" he asked. "I'd have never sold that thing, it was stolen off stage one night at a show, never to be seen again." I replied. His next sentence prompted this message. "Well, that was over a decade ago ya know, internet private sales have skyrocketed in the meantime. I'll bet if you googled around the net enough you could probably track down at least some evidence of it selling on kijiji or craigslist at some point." Fire stoked, mission accepted! So I'm looking for some help finding "Snowball", a late 80's Heritage H150CM with an installed bigsby, a repaired headstock snap, original finish removed and re lacquered in a light brown/cherry color (done rather poorly I might add), plenty of dings and dents and a few chunks of the heritage logo on the headstock flaked off. (at least it how it looked 13 years ago when I last saw it). I still have the pickguard so it would have had a replacement or none. It was stolen in Northern Ontario, Canada in 1999. I know it's a long shot but as folks who look them up all the time does this ring a bell to anyone? More than happy to buy it back, it apparently was irreplaceable to me I've learned over time. Thanks for reading this and I really hope to see her again one day!

I've been thinking about doing that too, when I got it it was amber with a matching wood pickguard and was just beautiful. Teenage touring and bad decisions definitely killed it's looks. And I could name the new one "Snowball II"!

Might be time to realize you'll most likely not find the original guitar, and you owe yourself the suitable replacement of a new one!

I'm in Ontario too they're not too common so if I see it will definitely let you know

PS check out the classified section here if you can't wait

Yeah the idea of getting another is looking like the best option, but it was worth a try. :) I have a Duojet I never play so I'll probably unload or trade that to get it. You are right, surfing Kijiji they're not too common in our neck of the woods!

While I wish you luck finding your original, don't let life pass you by. Get another one, and if Snoball re-appears, find a way to finance her, too. I never would have guessed it 2 years ago, but I sold my treasured Gibson Les Paul Classic to finance my 2nd H-150 in VSB, Lindy Fralin pickups. The LP was a great guitar, but I have not regretted the decision at all. Here's the H-150.

Hey jealousy, that's a sexy beast right there! I'm glad I posted on here, think it's high time I accepted that my old girl ran off and get myself a sexy younger model.

Seeker---Welcome to the HOC...I hope that you find snowball---this Forum has helped recover gits before--but I agree w/ the new purchase if you can swing it---I have a 91 LP and have been a heritage guy for a while---just did a recheck into Gibbs & was so sorely disappointed....Now I have another Heritage on the way...they are just so amazing.
