H Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Yes. Which is a good thing. Good to know My Seymour Duncan P90s sound like Phat Cats too. I can almost hear the snarl of those P90s ripping the soundproofing off your practice room
111518 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 'grats on the grill and guit, Ron. Gotta respect a man that has his priorities straight.
Guest HRB853370 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 New Grill Day. Yep, I got a new Weber One Touch Gold for Joe's House-O-Jam. We cooked a thick NY strip and some spicy Thai shrimp. Good times were had by all. I sure would like to check out that place...and the grill....and the food that comes off it....and maybe, a beer or two....
heritagefan7 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 You're livin right bird...livin right! Congrats sir

DavesNotHere Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 That one is beautiful. I played it a couple of week ago at Guitar Denter. There's not a scratch, ding or swirl anywhere on it. I've seen guitars sold as new that wern't in this good of shape.
DetroitBlues Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 The p-90s are not as loud as the phat cats. They loose power when you turn them down to 9 where the PCs just loose dirt. Overall the PCs are better pups because of this but I think I can live with it. I get the best tone when both pups are turned all the way up with both switched on at once. Might be more doing to the wiring and not the pickups, do you think?
High Flying Bird Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 Might be more doing to the wiring and not the pickups, do you think? I doubt it but it is a good idea to look at the wiring. I suspect it is the pups. Don't get me wrong, this guitar has some good tone inside it. It is just different and I have only played it one night.

I've seen guitars sold as new that wern't in this good of shape. It is in fine shape. I told the manager - they all remember me for the time I lost my mind down there - I would walk out the door with it for $1K. He pulled the salesman into his office and it was mine. Turns out the Salesman owned the guitar last. He has dibs. This kid started telling me about Heritage. I told him that I had been there and that I would probably go back this year. He asked me to bring him some saw dust back. If you manage to get over to Joe's this weekend I might let you play it again.

Shoot - with that fine P90 guit, bet you're thinking of flipping the 357. Tell you what - and I shouldn't do this, but I'm in a generous mood... I'll give ya the same identical deal. $1K for your 357 out the door.

They are not high output pickups by any means. Shim the pickups a little closer or just jack up the polepieces. It makes a huge difference. The bridge can really snarl.
kbp810 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 NGD and an NGD both on the same day? Well played sir, well played indeed.

As for your other question, straight down coiled up in a bucket.

Ahh, I was wondering what that bucket was doing there sitting next to the guit... on second thought, I didn't really need to know

High Flying Bird Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 This thread sure turned south in a hurry! This wouldn't happen if you people wouldn't taunt me. You know I am crazier than Ron Artest.
