MartyGrass Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I know that many of you believe you have the best looking Heritage. Well, that's changed as of an hour ago, IMO. At least there's some new competition for the best looker! This is a 2003 H555 Classic with the premium wood package. The term "Classic" must refer to the TOM bridge, stop tailpiece, and SD 59 pups. In addition this guitar has block inlays like its Gibson cousin. The neck is medium fat. It is mint and weighs 7.8 lbs. Jay Wolfe is the guy who custom ordered this honey.
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Congratulations Mark on another addition to your growing family! So this is a brand new one? Are you going to change the pups or leave it stock?
skydog52 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Three piece neck, block inlays and premium awesome wood package! You hit the trifecta. Nice one Mark. Dibs on that one!
MartyGrass Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 This is not new. I got it from a Heritage collector in Wyoming. He had three 555's. This one is almost unplayed. He plays his other 555s quite a bit, one with a stop TP and one with a Bigsby. The last time he restrung this was in 2008! The strings aren't even made anymore. I don't know about changing the pups. I have to hear them first. I'd need a good reason to switch though. .
FredZepp Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Whew... you're right. That one is quite a looker, from any angle. As much as I like the abalone/ MOP inlays that are normally on a 555, those blocks look just right. And what a neck ! I bet the '59s sound just fine in that. ...
Millennium Maestro Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Very nice neck wood! As always see Classic expect Seymour duncans.
DetroitBlues Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Wow, that's an incredible guitar! Look at the flame on the neck even! Holy cow! Congrats!
H Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 That's pretty What wood do they use for the centre strip in the neck?
MartyGrass Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 That's pretty What wood do they use for the centre strip in the neck? Mahogany, me thinks.
GASguy Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 A real beauty MG, the pearl blocks add an elegant and unique touch. Congratulations and enjoy it.
schundog Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Holy Smokes! I love the back of that neck, and everything ELSE about that beauty. Nice grab.
golferwave Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Extremely fine wood! The flamed neck is awesome. You hit paydirt on that one Mark....enjoy!
pressure Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 That is a fab guitar Mark. Really beautiful. Anybody that says they prefer plain wood haven't seen this.
Teeky Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Wow, that is a stunner! I can't say I've seen a three piece neck before. Are many made like that?
JeffB Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Nice 555!! You must have a nice collection of beautiful Heritages now.
