schundog Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I noticed this flattop scrolling by in the gallery section this morning when I was on the forum, and, taking a closer look, realized that these were pics of my 445, that I got from DetroitBlues, that he got from KBP810, that he got from Brent, that HE got from Big Bob. (That's all the ancestry I have knowledge of.) Very nice shots, with the old girl sporting a tortoise pickguard. While I do like that look, I think I prefer the thicker, odd-in-only-the-way-a-Heritage-can-be black pickguard Steiner helped me out with. Here's how she looked 3 years and three owners ago. I KNOW it's mine because of the little chip on the upper edge of the soundhole. http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz327/schundog/hft5.jpg[/img]"]https://

Steiner Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Boy, Brent's lawn sure has improved over time. I remember the shots of the guitar at the tree, but I don't recall the tortoise pickguard. Isn't it fun to revisit the baby photos!
kbp810 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I've heard stories about that tree... that Brent planted a small piece of maple, mahagony, korina, ebony, rosewood, and a Heritage headstock in that spot when he was a kid; and now it's grown into a guitar giving tree - this is where he actually gets all of these amazing guitars from. It had that tortoise pickgaurd when it came to me, I believe DB had removed it when he took possesion

kbp810 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Sure Big Bob was in the chain of custody? Yep, that's who I procured it from
schundog Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Sure Big Bob was in the chain of custody? Edit: I just saw KBP's post. I had it backwards; Brent had it before Lance. Brent, any chance you recall any previous owners of it?
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 The REAL question is who is going to be the NEXT owner!
schundog Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 The REAL question is who is going to be the NEXT owner! My future grandson, not to be born for at least 15 years (God, I hope! haha). That is, if kids in the future are even interested in guitars.....
