Nice delivery arrangements ..

And a 150 in a finish that I love and with a really really nice maple top.

Congrats...

Very nice, where is big Jim?

Thanks :) He came over to the UK on Friday from Paris on the Eurostar with his wife and spent the weekend with Sarah and me. He caught the 3pm train back to Paris today :)

Wow, that's some nice service! Hope you gave the delivery boy a nice tip.

Enjoy your NHGD, H

Thanks, I've been spanking it a bit this afternoon. The guitar that is ;)

Jim and his wife, Sally, spent the weekend with us and we took them out and about and wined and dined them :) Really nice transatlantic HOC meet up!

Sweet looking guitar Howard!! Enjoy playing that beauty.

Thanks Jeff :) I think your 150 is similar to this, isn't it?

Congrats...

I bought the guitar last September and was very patient :) I've now got an ASB pair - a 150 and a 535 :)

I might get the top refinished in the future, I've found a local luthier, Martyn Booth, who is more than capable of sorting it out :)

gotta say this quietly, but I kinda wish my H150 was that finish. Its chestnut burst. Is nice, I like, but I always imagined the single cut maple cap guitar I bought would look similar to the finish on yours.

Stingers enhance tone.... the evidence is clear.. :icon_thumleft:

That finish looks almost like OSB in that second pic, my ASB turns red in bright light or flash.

It looks great... keep the pics coming if you want...

Last one before I pull the Schaller bridge and tailpiece :)

Wait let me get this straight..... you are thinking of refinishing that 150????

That one in the picture that has one of the best tops I have ever seen???

Really, or am I missing something???

You're right, from the distance I took the photos it truly is an amazing top.

However, this is a 1990 guitar and it's been gigged and played extensively. There are a lot of marks on the top that are visible from a couple of feet away, marks that I was fully aware of before I bought it, that I will have assessed by a local luthier to see whether he can replicate the ASB finish.

So there we have it - the camera can lie when you only let it show what you want to be shown ;)

Wow your a patient guy! I'd probably got on a plane and picked it up; too many sleepless nights otherwise. Nice, beautiful guitar. Congrats!!!

Wow! That one is a winner Howard. I love that pic that emphasizes the flame - it just pops. Also enjoyed the pic of you guys passing the goods. Looks like a good time was had by all, as well as a new addition to the family. Congrats.

Martyn Booth makes some very nice guitars - John Etheridge uses one. A couple of years ago I went to an exhibition of UK luthiers at the arts centre in Sleaford (a small town in Lincolnshire), which was curated by Gordon Giltrap, and this is one of Martyn's guitars which caught my eye -

There were also concerts taking place and the one I attended featured a pair of Martins - Martin Taylor and Martin Simpson!
