big bob Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Well when I got home from work yesterday there was a package waiting for me. Our own KBP810 was kind enough to send me some parts for my champ build, some super cool capacitors and six or so tubes of various makes and models.. Just a few parts left to assemble and I'll be on my way. Thanks Brian.
kbp810 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Glad to hear it arrived; looking forward to seeing and hearing the results!
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 So you are really an amp builder now too? What don't you do? Impressive Big Bob!
212Mavguy Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Great! It won't belong before we have another amp brand label around here... niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Great! It won't belong before we have another amp brand label around here... niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! Be careful about that one. Can you imagine a Big Bob amp with a Bigsby arm on it?
Steiner Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 A good, mad scientist always has the best sources. You have done well.
bolero Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 cool beans!! I second the vote to install a bigsby on the amp
Bonefish Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I think the bigsby should be installed on a pedal for the amp. Maybe a clean/hot button and a bigsby arm?
rjmajik Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Glad to hear it arrived; looking forward to seeing and hearing the results! Great gesture!
H Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I second the vote to install a bigsby on the amp Does this mean he can lose the 12AX7 that would have powered the tremolo circuit?
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Does this mean he can lose the 12AX7 that would have powered the tremolo circuit? Might be a cost saving move!
bolero Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 haha that would be hilarious, if you could rig a bigsby up on the front of the amp...push it with your foot & it causes a vibrato it could be done
Trouble Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Well crap can I build one? I would love to have a little Champ head to run through a 12" cab.
big bob Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Well the waiting continues, still waiting on the chassis and one of the resistors? I sent an email out, hope for a response today. Come on triode... I'm impatient!
