zydecosoultrain Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 This business has a concise, tasteful quote in appreciation of heritage guitars. The second line says it all: Heritage Guitar Inc. of 225 Parsons Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan was incorporated on April 1, 1985. The company is going on 25 years old, it has achieved the status of one of the premier guitar companies in the world today. It is, in many instances, the new guitar line handled by countless vintage shops throughout the world. This indicates it is thought of as the collectible guitar of tomorrow. http://guitarsnjazz.com/products/heritage/
unikh550 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Could be, especially since they've only made about 20,000 guitars so far in their history. People are really going to regret not saving for another six months or so to get a truly excellent guitar. Am very fond of the Epiphone Joe Pass that's been loaned to me while my H-550 is being refinished. However, it's only a reasonable impersonator of the Heritage. Takes more careful dialing in to impersonate the Charlie Christian pickup sound of the H-550.
FredZepp Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 .....A few of those luthiers formed a new company, Heritage Guitar Inc. The appellation is apt. “Heritage is more than our name; it’s who we are,” says Jim Deurloo, a cofounder along with Marv Lamb, J.P. Moats and Bill Paige. “We’ve been building guitars all our lives,” adds Jim, who started at Gibson in 1958 at age 19. Marv was 16 when hired on May 31, 1956. Like Marv, J.P. also hails from Alabama “ My sister worked at Gibson and she got someone to hire me — that was in 1957 — and I worked for them for 28 years.” Vince elaborates,"Our product is the core of the company, and customers can count on hand-made, high-quality craftsmanship, just as it’s always been. Made in the U.S.A. Made in Michigan. Made in Kalamazoo.”
