OK, I'm in to give the Parson boys some hell...

I officially signed up for the HOC reunion. I hope all travel plans go as expected, because I plan on being there. I don't know if I'm going to Brent's before or after the factory tour, but I sure would like to.

As far as the boys at Parsons St. WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON WITH YOSLATE'S GUITAR???

I tell you he is much more patient than I could be. They tell him it's done and it's what 3 days later.

Seriously, I would cal VINCE, NOT REN or anyone else and demand that guitar be given to him at the factory. I picked up mine that way instead of having it sent back to Jay's in Florida and then back to OH.

VINCE is the man who is concerned with customer relations and has gone out of his way for me in the past. I'll bet you anything he has no idea that Yoslate is a HOC member and is traveling as far as he is for the reunion. If Vince knew he would have called you on your cell phone (if he had the number).

Seriously, I call Jay and ask for Vince to call you. IF you do that you will have your guitar at the reunion or before.

Good luck, and look forward to meeting you all!

Every business has lost an order.  I have to give Slate credit for being as cool as he has been.  This would have made me no longer want the guitar.

Heritage isn't the only party I would be upset with here.  The people at Wolfe Guitar should provide better service for the customer.  If it were my store I would have had a polite but frank talk to the powers that be in Kzoo a long time ago.  I would be ashamed to be the dealer here especially with as many new guitars that are showing on my g-base page.

Again (and again, and again...), I know you all must be tired of hearing about this, and I apologize for airing my saga out here.  But that's why I joined the HOC in the first place, for support, once I'd heard about the shutdown last year.  And support is what I've had...in spades!  When I ordered the box, Graham told me this project could take a year, and that was before  last summer's shutdown.  Emails and phone calls to Jay's have been handled promptly and graciously, although I have initiated all of the contact.  Recently, Ren, apparently a man of few words, has been good about responding to my emails, and the presence of Kuz and Brent at Parsons Street sure hasn't hurt.  So, as long as it's been (fourteen months Saturday), it's not like I wasn't prepared.  I've had terrific vicarious thrills hearing about and seeing all of the GAS satisfied here, seeing all of the amazing instruments changing hands.  And the amount of information imparted on the forum has been amazing, and tapping into it a real education.

Yeah, so I've waited a pretty long time for a guitar that already has a lot of personal history, beyond what I've related here, in it.  And I probably should be more adamant about delay and delivery with both Jay and Vince.  But it's not really in my nature, and I never wanted the building of the guitar rushed, just so I could have it.  I suppose I have been patient, but that patience is based, and with good reason I think, on the assumption that it will ultimately be rewarded...in fact, already has been!  Thanks everybody!

Yos,

My Groovemaster arrived at Jeff Hales' last week.  So there's hope! Unfortunately, he had to send it back to Heritage to get the pickguard fixed (it wasn't fitted right).  So, you and I are back in the same boat.

I'll be drowning my sorrows with my Super Eagle this weekend.  I just ordered a handwound Kent Armstrong humbucker to replace the neck Schaller.  Planning on doing the swap once I'm busy with the Groovemaster.

Good luck with Jay

I thought they were supposed to have better quality control now! How unfortunate!

You guys are terrific!  Thanks for all the interest and support!

tulk:  It's a Super Eagle, almondburst, 1 3/4" nut width, with Lollar P-90's.  I was looking for a mid-fifties Super 400/L5 CES, but uniquely Heritage, kind of box....

Brent:  You've been a great friend to attend to that guitar as you have.  You and Kuz are now a part of that stick's mythology to me.  Thanks!

ingeneri:  Sorry to hear about the return trip for your Groovemaster  (what a cool name!), but we want 'em right!  I've heard nothing but raves about the Armstrongs!

:this_thread_is_useless_withou...and pics are useless without guitars....

He got the color wrong, it tobacco burst! ;D

Time to call Wolfe's and get some answers.

Dealers are not out any money on these special custom orders until they arrive and become inventory then they want their money pronto.

Wolfe's are open until 6pm est. Need the number?

It might be just sitting there in a box collecting dust. Guys at Wolfe's are fine people but work on their schedule (ie only order first of the month, only bill at certain time of the month... kinda sounds like a guitar version of PMS!)

Not until I let you have at it with the Krylon on the 18th....  ;D

Everytime I read that I want to get one for myself!

The pickguard isn't such a big deal.  Jeff Hale does a pretty intensive set up, we even were conferring on what strings I preferred (thomastik swing flat 13s).  I doubt most stores would have even have noticed a problem.  If it were G-word, I suspect i would be SOL.  But since Heritage is only a days drive away, Jeff decided to send it back.  I'd rather wait and have everything done perfectly and am happy to be working with a dealer and company who care to fix mistakes.

Out for a while and just got in.  Message on the machine from Graham, at Wolfe's.  They have it, and I'm waiting for the next move in phone tag.  Graham's it....  Vibe (not the percussion variety) is a very interesting phenomenon!

It better be the most photographed guitar in history (in 23.1 minutes after arrival- we'll give you time to inspect her).

Bet you never thought you would like to see this smiley icon so much...

Guess I could have just posted here, Rob, if  I'd read the thread. I also expected better from Heritage than this, especially when you toss in Ingeneri's pickguard blunder.

Still, I remain a huge fan of Heritage - they are a rare type of company.

Yeah, sorry about that!  Just  got off of the phone with Graham.  The guitar will ship from Jupiter on Tuesday; I should have it by Friday.  I'm getting a Tone Pro's tune-a-matic with it as well.  The only thing is, I ordered it with the ebony K.B. pickguard, which Heritage didn't fit to the guitar.  Graham said there were several options as to how to cut the pickguard and mount it to accommodate the dogears on the P-90's, and it was an aesthetic decision they wanted to leave with me.  I'll get Tom on it.

Graham was also very  excited about his mini-humbucker Deluxe project.  He was thrilled to know pics were already on the HOC.  That one is his.  But he said there are (I think) a goldtop, another dark cherryburst, and a tobaccoburst (which he said had a spectacular top) on the way, and he's already taken three or so orders.  He described their tone as "sweet" with a brighter high end than regular humbuckers.  He said they are going to do only a dozen or so a year, and they'll be sold with a "certificate."  I'll let you guys speculate as to the significance of that.  When I mentioned the HOC he was quick to add that T-Steel's righteous 150 was on its way to him, too.

Thanks again for all the support, fellas.  The HOC is very, very cool!    8)
