Guest HRB853370 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I don't know how to do polls on the forum, so let me just toss out this question: What percentage of time approximately do you play each model that you own? For simplicity, I divided it into the 3 major categories. Of course, many of us only own one or two categories. ARCHTOP SEMI-HOLLOW SOLID BODY
kbp810 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 As of late, I'd say 80% on my 450 and 20% on my 157 - I need an NGD sooner or later to help break me back into that Semi Hollow category
H555rocks Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 haven't strung it up in a while but if we r only talking heritage, then Id have to say semi hollow 100%.
Keith7940236 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Semi Hollow 50% Hollow 50% Split right down the middle.
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 haven't strung it up in a while but if we r only talking heritage, then Id have to say semi hollow 100%. Be kinda hard to play unstrung wouldn't it?
Kuz Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 It comes and goes for me depending on my mood and what type of music I am playing. Over the last 6 months, I would say.... 45% my 150s 35% my archtops 20% my 555/535 Now if I go to playing more fusion, then the 555/535s will get the majority of play. Blues or Rock, then 150s will get most of the action. Jazz standards only the archtops. My general rule of thumb and this is JUST ME; If I am using playing an Overdriven amp that is approaching ZZtop distortion then I will only play the 150s. If it is a warm OD ala Robben Ford or Larry Carlton then the 555/535, with locational 150 use. Clean to bone jazz then the archtops. I don't know why I almost never play the 150s clean, but I don't.

ARCHTOP SEMI-HOLLOW SOLID BODY Interesting that your list is in the order that I purchased and generally play my Heritages. ARCHTOP, SEMI-HOLLOW then SOLID BODY! My first Heritage was a Sweet 16, so I've fallen deeply for tones that only come from an archtop. 50% My first NEW Heritage was an H555. I've always had a special bond with it and own more semi's than other types of gits. 30% Finally, I probably enjoy solid body gits mostly for live performances...which have dropped off considerably of late, but they still get played. 20%
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 25% 150 25% Prospect 25% Millie 25% 137 All good! Lets see, you didn't read instructions. Your answer would be 50% solid, 50% semi. Now was that so difficult?

John, your answer suprised me. I would have guessed you played archtops 60% or more of the time. BTW, 150's are meant to play overdriven!!!
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 2 Guitars. Heritage 555 - 85%, Gibson Dove - 15% You didnt read instructions either. Semi: 100%
tulk1 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 50% on the Semi. 50% on the a heritage acoustic instrument (mandolin). Why were the Heritage acoustic instruments left off the "poll"? Seems biased, to me .....
Spectrum13 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Lets see, you didn't read instructions. Your answer would be 50% solid, 50% semi. Now was that so difficult? You asked about each heritage MODEL. I have four models and play each model equal time. Two solid one semi hollow and one semi solid.
DetroitBlues Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Lately, I play my Heritage H000AG 100% of the time.... I have zero Heritage Guitars, so I can only use my imagination....
Ned Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 100% hollow - what choice do I have? (and don't include the link to Wolfe's.....)
iim7v7im7 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Probably between my two Heritages out of all my guitars the Sweet 16 gets played about 30% of the time (which is a lot) and the H-535 about 20% of the time. The other 50% is between my other instruments. But I go in phases on favorites from time to time.
yoslate Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Solid: 35%; Semi: 55%; Hollow: 10% of the time I'm playing a Heritage. I play a Heritage about 80% of the time I play.
DavesNotHere Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I don't always play Heritage, but when I do it's been about 50/50 flat top/solid lately.
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 50% on the Semi. 50% on the a heritage acoustic instrument (mandolin). Why were the Heritage acoustic instruments left off the "poll"? Seems biased, to me ..... I screwed up the poll!!!
