H555 with D-VIP - is this where the switches should be?

I am new to this forum and have a question regarding a H555 I'm considering purchasing. I haven't put my hands on it yet but have this image of the front of the guitar and am wondering if the coil tap switches are in the right location and this is an unmodified guitar. I will have the serial number tomorrow but until then I'm not sure what model year this H555 is. The image is small so in case you can't see the switches they are in lower bout pretty much side by side under the inside lower tone control.

Anyone know of this is how they where supplied from Heritage when equiped with D-VIP set-up?

Thanks in advance.

that is not the normal placement for the D-vip....looks like those may have been added after the factory

You may have already seen this: http://www.heritageg...vip.html#single Don't know if that will be much help. Never investigated the VIP system, but there are plenty on the forum who have. I'm sure they'll be chiming in shortly. And yes, it would help to know what year the guitar is. Good luck. Just saw Brent's post, above. If anyone knows, he does. Thought it looked sketchy. Aren't the factory toggles usually in a line, sort of in the same plane as the neck, Brent?

My H 555 has a D VIP and the minitoggles are in a different location.

Gas' also has HRW's, which, apparently, are not on the 555 in vonreimer's pictures, and which were frequently a part of the VIP package.

I've had 2 and they where both in this position and 1 I had done after the build by Heritage.
