golferwave Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Great guitar! From your initial description I was expecting a much worse looking piece. You done good!
schundog Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Thanks, everyone. This cleaned up pretty well, but I'm still going to take it out to my tech to see if he can buff some of the crud off of it. That said, the thing plays better than most any guitar I've even had, and sounds great, even with the Schallers! I'll bring it home to Kalamazoo for a visit in a couple of months!
SouthpawGuy Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Nice one, love those natural finish Heritage guitars !

Lots of character in that guitar. Make her a keeper. I know you rarely sell anything anyhow!
DetroitBlues Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Isn't there a way to detect a headstock repair? Should be fairly visible. Its a shame that nice guitar was so mistreated. Even if it was professionally gigged with, there is no reason for all that scuffing all over the finish. On mine it was obvious, but the repair person didn't try to hid it. I rather think the repair person in this case did by not allowing the wood grain to be seen. I'm sure if Brian checks with Heritage, they'll let him know they would make a stinger like that. After all, its not paint, its a veneer.
Kuz Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Lots of character in that guitar. Make her a keeper. I know you rarely sell anything anyhow! I agree. Personally, I think it is nice to have a "relic'd or beater" guitar that isn't a POS. I am predicting this "555 Driveway Thrower" will see A LOT OF ACTION!!!!
DetroitBlues Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 At least knowing if the headstock was already broken and repaired, its one less thing to worry about.
schundog Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 If there was a break, I cant see it; still, i can't imagine the stinger is stock. I'll show it to the crew in August.
DetroitBlues Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Sweet! I'll be looking forward to "inspecting" it for you!
