H Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Another top notch guitar! Are you going solely for 'signature' guitars these days, Sir Brently?
FredZepp Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 THAT is gorgeous ! A superb top and board. We await your personal views on this one...
HANGAR18 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I have active EMG's in my Schecter Hellraiser "V" (...as in the body is a V shape. Sorry, Heritage doesn't make a V or else I'd own one.). These are really hot pickups and are perfect for heavy metal. The only thing I don't like is having to keep the 9volt battery fresh. I can't complain though... the battery access on the Schecter is a spring loaded plastic case that pops out in about a half a second whereas the battery for active EMGs in a Les Paul design guitar are inside the pot compartment, which of course means 4 screws and a screwdriver.
bolero Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 wow, love that top & finish!! and the wood PG is a nice touch congrats!
Kuz Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 If there is a pickup TOO HOT for Brent's playing, I haven't seen it!!!!
brentrocks Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Heritage must have been very strict with the specs on the Gary Moore models......i must have been crazy to sell the first one i had, but the first time i played it tonight it was like i had #22 back in my hands. It weighs in at 9.75 lbs. The neck is slim and C shaped with a super small heel. These EMGs are hot, no doubt....but very snappy and crisp. Acousticly, this guitar is very loud...gives a good vibration against your body. I'm very glad i pulled the trigger n this one....you never know what you got till its gone, and i was really missing this one! Here is a little tone demo....i'm very happy with the tone of the EMGs....they will be staying in this guitar, for sure!!! http://www.reverbnat...w/song_13477348
HANGAR18 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 If you ever decide that you don't like the pickups, don't replace them... just sell me the whole guitar. hahahaha
MartyGrass Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 That's a good weight. I haven't found the battery to be an issue. Mine is over 6 months old. Brent, I know you love that neck. It's called a fast neck for a reason.
Gitfiddler Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 FINALLY!!!!! Its here!!! Brent~ How would you compare #18 (above), to #22 (below)?
brentrocks Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 Brent~ How would you compare #18 (above), to #22 (below)? Thats what amazes me Tim....they feel very close to the same. #22 was a little lighter, maybe a pound? The neck feels very close. The way it plays, the overall feel....thats why i'm wondering how close Gary was monitoring the specs of these, because i think they followed some strict specs on these.
tulk1 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 It's okay, I guess. No Leon, that's for sure ...... It is, however, very pretty. If anything Gary Moore can be called pretty. I recall we were all pretty much "NO DON'T DO IT" when you replaced the EMGs on #22. Leave this one stock!!! Yeah, baby, awesome guitars.

Maybe a week or two before you sell it ... Just to see if they grow on you...
tulk1 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 "... tonight there's goin' to be a jailbreak.. ..." That would be Gorham/Robertson. But close enough.
FredZepp Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 That would be Gorham/Robertson. But close enough. Yeah... sounds good on the GM... !
