smaj Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Put the order in yesterday with Marv for another H-357, Cardinal Red, ebony board with MOP dots, Lollar mini's , cream guard and binding. 4th in line, so a bit of a wait that the old Sarge can handle!
Genericmusic Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Nice, very nice. I too can't wait to see that one.
High Flying Bird Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Brother! That sounds real nice. The wait almost killed me but it was worth every minute of tortured time.
FredZepp Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The red/ cream combo with an Ebony board should make for a stunning 357... and these are a "get 'em while you can" model. I'm glad to hear that they are still being made.
Spectrum13 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 "get 'em while you can" is exactly the point. Was Marv's Gibson start date anniversary May 31 1956? Good on you getting on that build list.
Kuz Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 That will be a classic!!! Marv, is just nailing these 357s, they really should go full production with them. Then again, the OLD STEP MOM (Gibson) may rear her ugly head and break up the party!!!!
tulk1 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Pretty danged cool to get in on the "underground" Firebirds. And by the Master, himself. Almost jealous. They sure do look sharp.

Congratulations! But, if you wanted to get to the TOP of the waiting list, you should have gone in to Heritage in full uniform, looked Marv straight in the eye, and ordered your 357 be put on the fast track! I never met a Sergeant Major in the Army that didn't intimidate the Hell out of ME, haha. The 357's I've seen are breathtaking, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Retired USMC many years ago now ,1990 as a matter of fact. I can wait it out with the best of them! BLS is retired Army and we work together at Motor City Guitar, we have fun bashing each other, but I out rank him!

I just knew a lot of cocky lieutenants that thought they knew more that season First Sargent's and Sargent Majors ...Even one that bragged he'd make the Brigade Sargent Major do pushups because he "out ranked" him.
brentrocks Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Awesome 357 , Lance. yes it is....and you gotta love the custom paintjob on the case!
FredZepp Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 yes it is....and you gotta love the custom paintjob on the case! aha.... yes, I know the artist ...
BLS Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Can't wait to tag along with smaj when he heads up to pick it up!! For those of you that have not seen his other one, here it is:
FredZepp Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Another awesome 357 ! I love that these threads turn into a showcase for 357 porn.... it's a cool thing. ... and then .. awaiting a cardinal red 357 w cream binding and guard , with ebony board and mini's... that will add a new flavor to these 357 threads..
smaj Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 The real question is are you coming to PSP? I would love to be their Slammer, but with my mother - in - law going through breast cancer, I just can't say for sure!
allmantrout Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 I asked Bill Paige a while ago if he had any H357's "laying around" when they weren't making them any more. He found a Red one and sold it to me with a letter stating that "...as of this date...this is the last H-357 produced...". He stamped it #2. And when I received it, it was VERY nice! I sold it to a friend of mine who is now interested in selling it. Is $2000 about the right price? I will get photos posted as soon as I can.

Congrats on that order sounds like it should be a cool '60's custom vibe.
