Comancheplayer Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 This is an H150 posted on TGP a while back. It is the finish I'm looking for, but it seems too dark to be a typical cherry burst, and it surely is not orange enough to be VSB at least in my opinion. What do all of you Heritage junkies think.
FredZepp Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The pic may be enhanced a bit with photo software.
Comancheplayer Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 here it is with the color boosted a bit.... Yea Fred but that color doesn't look boosted to me, it just looks like a good well lit room. When I look at this I really feel that guitar would look just like that in person. I don't know I'm no expert, but to me there are times when a pic just looks right to me and this is one of those times. Then there's other times when I just know the color is solely dependent on the lighting in a particular picture. I feel this happens a lot when I look at pics of VSB. From what I've seen and heard from others that color is very tough to photograph accuratley. I sent the pic to the guys at wolfes, to get their opinion. They tell me they have a special cherry color that heritage makes for them and I'm wondering if this is it. I'm gonna send it to Heritage when I get the chance as well.
FredZepp Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Anything is possible as far as a custom finish. ... I remember seeing that guitar, but don't know any details. At least you know what you're looking for. ....
FredZepp Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I did remember that one from somewhere.... Here's a pic that I had of that 150 w minis previously..
FredZepp Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I think that maybe that was a guitar from Wolfes....
yoslate Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'm pretty sure that is a Wolfe guitar, and I think Graham Zebedee was instrumental (no pun intended) in getting The Boys and The Girl to do the cherryburst with mini hums. And Comanche, color does vary widely from instrument to instrument. There are an awful lot of variables in mixing color and shooting guitars, not to mention the fact that every piece of wood takes color differently. I, for one, wouldn't want "copier" consistency in the work of art which is each Heritage guitar. And Heritage is very highly regarded in the industry for the quality of their finishes, particularly their colors!

DetroitBlues Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Just ask for the rear cover to be removed and read the label to you.
koula901 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The all look quite different from outdoors in sunlight, to indoors with dim lighting. Lighting is everything with photographing these guitars.
Comancheplayer Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Well Wolfes confirms that it was in fact one of theirs that Graham worked on putting together. Apparently he spent time with Lollar on the pups and going back and forth with Heritage on the color. Wolfes says it's a very accurate pic as far as it's in person characteristics go, and that it is the antique cherry burst, and can you believe they say thats a non-upgraded top to boot. Heritage gave me some insight also, only they seem to recall it being "almond burst with a tint of cherry burst mixed in". So there you have it.
