I have played one Heritage Acoustic Guitar, countless Heritage Electric Guitars, but I have never seen or heard of a Heritage Bass Guitar. I am wondering if Heritage ever made a Bass Guitar?

Just curious.

Thanks.

On the Heritage website you can download some older catalogues with indeed the HB series bass guitars.

Once in a great while one of the Heritage acoustics will show up on ebay but I don't believe I've ever seen a Heritage bass for sale. I'll have to keep a closer watch.

How did I miss those 1989 and 1993 catalogs on the website?!  What a lot of fun it is to look through those.  I'd love to find one of those firebirds.

Thanks for the info.

The H-475 (I believe that was the number) was different than the H-445. This one had a cutaway and was made of rosewood, I believe. It was rather shallow sounding, but I felt that would change over time. I had it bought at Smith Music in Portland, MI and then wife had a fit about me buying another guitar. I had to back out of the deal which was a real embarrassment for me. On of the Patnoude Brothers from Portland (I think Rick) bought it from Milt Smith and MAY still have it. I've seen it a a couple of guitar shows since my close call with it.

A bass, I have NEVER seen or heard of.

Take care.

Hi!  Total newbie to this site here, and sorry for digging up a really old thread, but I wanted to post that I do own a 1987 Heritage Bass, siminlar in shape to a F**der P-Bass.  This poor thing was abused and neglected long before it came into my possession, and I have only made things worse (the stickers on purpose, and the cracked headstock a horrible horrible mistake).  I'll post pics when I get home, if anyone is interested.

I've got one and it's definitely NOT for sale. It's my current favourite. (even with the Schaller pups).

I play it so much it's in danger of wearing out. I LOVE it... 8)

In fact, as other HOC members will probably testify, I won't shut up about it. Any excuse for another pic...

The 475 is mahogany.  It has an arched mahogany back, mahogany neck and sides, spruce top, rosewood fingerboard & best of all, a wide flat neck like my 535s.

I've only seen 3 Heritage basses on ebay & one became mine.  HB-1

Has become my favorite "go-to" bass for the band I play in - see my picture on my ID or in the web site that the band I'm in has: "www.LostInTyme.com".

Changed out pickup to an EMG P-bass pickup.  Thunderous!

Great feeling bass, awsome action, beautiful resonant tone!!!

See one - go for it!  Don't hesitate!

...and that was Heritage bass Ren was thumping at the Pilgrimage, in July.  tulk played it; he might have something to say about it.  tulk?

Mark was kicking out a solid line on it as well. Looked like a nice instrument in a "well worn" sort of way...but, as we all agree, it's the good ones that get played. :)

Oooops!  Sorry I missed Mars' audition on the bass!  I must have been test driving the Oberon or doing the Andy Warhol thing for Randy's video.  Boy, that was a day, wasn't it?

Near as I can recall, Mark, Randy, Ren, me and .... ooops! one other, played bass that day. I think Mark took the cake as longest on the stick. I found Ren's bass to be very easy to play - as you would expect. It had that very broken in feel, sat well on the strap, had the bottom-feeder tone you'd want and ... well, just played and sounded great! Don't recall if Ren's was set neck or bolt on. Doesn't really matter. It more than got the job done. And thru a tiny battery operated amp.
