New practice/recording tool

I just ordered from Sweetwater, the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp. I've been waiting for a sturdy device that I can use with the Amplitube, Ampkit, and Garage Band applications on my iPod/iPad. The previous interface units were flimsy or noisey. For $60 shipped with a free 2 year warranty, I knew I cannot go wrong.

Keep us posted DB. I have an irig and like it a lot, works well for those "headphone" times.

Wow, built like a tank!

so, it's an interface to plug the guitar into, and from there to your ipod?

Guitar > iRig Stomp > iPad > iRig Stomp > amp/pa/headphones or combination of those.

Let us know how it works. I've played with some of those things in the past and found the latency (time between when I play something and when I hear it) to be distracting.

So DB, how are you going to use it to practice? Not sure I'm up on the software for iPad/iPod and amp plug in's for the laptop..

Put your iPad or iPod on a music stand, run the cables, and you're all set. The software is at your finger tips and the interface to your gear is at your feet.

I am using Positive Grid\'s JamUp. Really dig it.

Just watched a little demo. I may just have to get one later this year and run the stereo out into the stereo effects return of the JC120.
