Wolfi Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Here is a video demo with top player Lance Keltner, showing the Retro Channel RR1. This machine is a solid state amp. I could not believe it. Enjoy Cheers Wolfi
GuitArtMan Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 They were a buzz over at TGP, but it seems like not many were sold and many ended up in the emporium. Killer sounding amp imho, but then Lance could make a Pignose sound good.
rjsanders Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 have had one over a year, decided to keep it. xlnt stuff. US parts, US build, <$1K new. N.B.: Lance uses the finest guitars, FX, spkr cabs to get his sound and is a fine talent. so, if you plug yr pawn shop guitar in and have a cheapo cab and don't like the sound...well, so it goes... can't say i'd prefer it to any tubey stuff i have here, but also can't say i'd pick it out in a mix as a solid-statey amp... i use it as a backup for gigging. line out will go direct to PA, in case i blow a transformer or something mid-gig. fine thing, too, to save wear on my tube amps. + it weighs about 12 lbs. anyway...
FredZepp Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 That's pretty cool. He does a good demo. I was looking for a tube screamer or something running, but he says the demo is with no effects.. so that works quite nicely by itself.
koula901 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 can't believe it's not a tube amp! sounds pretty good, reasonable price.
