Heritage quality Acoustic Guitar?

Hi,

I love my H555 and I am looking to buy an acoustic guitar manufactured with the same level of quality and at a similar price point, any recommendations?

I don't believe Heritage manufactures acoustic guitars.

I am looking for a boutique style guitar.

Thanks

They don't make them anymore but Heritage acoustics are out there. I had one for awhile. It sounded great, but it was a well used model. Its playability was great and its tone was absolutely killer. As far as good tone at an affordable price, I'd suggest either Seagull (made in Canada), or Epiphone Master-built series. (made in China). Both have great tones and look more like a vintage peice...

I'm sure you could have an accoustic archtop made (essentially just a hollowbody with no pickups)

Bigbob did just that and had an acoustic 575 built; and I myself have given serious consideration to an acoustic Eagle.

Heritage did make acoustics once, but no longer - they do pop up for sale every now and then if you keep a sharp eye out.

Larrivee and Collings are popular choices on the high end. Larrivee provided the bodies to Heritage when Heritage did make acoustics. Huss and Dalton also gets great marks. Good luck!

A true boutique acoustic guitar won't be available at the price point you reference (1200 - 1800) lets say. Larrivee and Collings can be had in that range, but I wouldn't consider them Boutique guitars, they are built in higher volume to exacting standards by craftsman however. To get close to the Heritage vein, Larrivee would be an excellent choice.

there are dozens upon dozens of boutique manufacturers out there, building spectacular guitars. My opinion is that, FAR more than on the electric side, you really really need to go to shops and play guitars to find the one. Acoustics can't be tweaked to create the perfect sound the way an electric can. You can find a spectacularly beautiful guitar, and it doesn't have the sound YOU are looking for.

This is simply NOT true: once I had my Gibson Hummingbird chambered, an Ibanez Gem neck and EMG Blackouts fitted, it became the perfect metal-shred-folk guitar ;)

He said boutique guitar DB. I would recommend a Taylor 414, even though its not considered boutique or hand made. When you get into the 4 series, they are made in California instead of Mexico, and TalismanRich can attest, as he has one too. I dig my 614CE. The 414's can be had for around $1400 new.

Goodall make a very fine acoustic. If I were to by a boutique acoustic it would be a Goodall. But all the afore mentioned are very good guitars.

I have a Heritage 445. It's a nice guitar and I've always liked it. Per Generic's comment, it is certainly not in the same league as a Goodall. The Hawaiian Goodall's IMHO, were the best boutique acoustics ever. Wished I had bought more than one back when they were more affordable.

I haven't kept track of small factory and boutique makers. In the $2K-$3K range still like Martin's and a recent Golden Age D18 I played was surprisingly good. Above that I would probably get a used Goodall. Above that you start hitting some good custom builders.

Breedlove makes great quality acoustics at about every price range.

I have an American Series, and I concur.
