soundsbeyondspecs Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Turbo Tuner thumbs-up. I'm using the plug-in model with the metal jacket. I've used other tuners including different Korg plug-in and microphone sensor models. This is by far quickest and most precise. It produces the best sounding chords I've heard my guitars play, and the better-tuned individual notes are easier to map out by ear. The mute feature while "tuning-by-sight" took a couple trial runs to feel confident stabilizing the rotating display. After that, it's way easier than centering a meter needle. Switched off, it's a 100% clean bypass and completely quite. No pops operating the power button. I find the dial easy to read both in bright daylight and dimmed lighting.
grubber Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I only use a Peterson Autostrobe 490 in my shop. nothing is more accurate. Bought because of my training at Galloup School of Luthery and Bryan Galloup. When he talks--astute students listen.
