ib2010 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Been looking a long time to replace my 59 es-225 that was lost in a fire at a friends house. This one INSTANTLY channeled all the good wood vibes/tones/trampoline i was hoping for. Plus, i get the impression it has a more controllable feedback threshold, less squeal, more of a full bodied "zoom" in.--- Not fancy or slick or "new" feeling.-- Plays great---Perfect !!! (Dark Almond Burst)
Steiner Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 That guitar looks like chairman of the board! Welcome to the collective. Nice first post - porn and all!
barrymclark Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 These are just awesome! High on the list these are.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Congrats and welcome to the HOC, a very fine 525 you have there !
FredZepp Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Wow , that is awesome with that finish. It sounds like you've found your perfect guitar. Congrats and welcome to the club.
barrymclark Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 There really is a special flavor the P90's. There is just that sweet smokiness to them I really dig. Next guitar purchase will definitely have them.
ib2010 Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks for the welcome. I've been "lurking" here for a long time. Also, i was a member a few years back, but lost the hookup either when i changed computers, or the forum made some changes. P-90's are my favorite ride, i just love the way they respect dynamic input variations. Sweet and clear to the edge of raunch. Big fan of the "Heritage" approach to instrument design and build. s
gpuma Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Welcome! nice looking guitar. I am sure it sounds just as nice. Congrats
brentrocks Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Very nice!! Welcome to the HOC!!! I love my new 525 Eagle...its a spankin axe!!!
ingeneri Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Nice! Iove my 525 even though the P90 buzz can be problematic at the quiet (ie. empty) jazz venues I play at. Very special instruments that cover a wide range of styles. Enjoy!
schundog Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Congratulations! Beautiful guitar. Welcome to the HOC and the 525 Club! It looks very similar to my OSB (Old Style Burst) 525.
fxdx99 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Ooh - that's a nice 525. Like the finish. For that matter, never saw a 525 I didn't like...
schundog Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Ooh - that's a nice 525. Like the finish. For that matter, never saw a 525 I didn't like... Ain't THAT the truth!
