Bluesbender75 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 So I was jamming with my bandmate and he is equally jazzed about my H150 as I am. He was so excited that on a whim he surprised me by ordering me a faber locking tailpiece....what a guy huh? Anyhow i was looking over my guitar and noticed that the bushings appear to be set down in there and not flush with the top of the guitar. Any suggestions? Are there longer Bushing available. I know some folks have the bushings flush. I know there is a vintage and a historic bushing with different sizes, the vintage beind longer. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks.
mars_hall Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 If it were me, I would leave the factory bushings in the guitar and screw down the tailpiece flush with the surface using the rings that come with the Faber Tone-lock. It should work and is probably long enough to clear the hole. Measure it. If not, place washers under the ring to get the extra height out of the hole. If you attempt to remove the old bushings by screwing a longer bolt of the same thread down into the hole 'til it starts lifting the original bushing out, you will never have the same degree of solid contact with the wood the virgin one did.
Blunote Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 There is another thread running on this very subject. Check it out. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/18174-hardware-retrofit/
