Guest HRB853370 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I stumbled upon a really cool effect a few minutes ago. I was playing a 150 through my Delta Blues, with the tremolo activated, intensity at about 6 and the speed on 2. I found that if I picked very lightly in synch with the tremolo speed, it sounded almost exactly like volume swells, creating a very cool violin like simulation. When I used an even lighter attack on the wound E and A strings, it sounded like a bow sliding across the strings!!
MartyGrass Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Cool. While it's possible to do volume swells on a H150, it's not nearly as easy as on a Strat.

Seems to me the volume control on a Strat is ideally positioned for the pinky finger to do swells. Jeff Beck is a master at it!

DetroitBlues Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 That's actually why I didn't like that circuit on the Delta Blues. It changes volume not pitch like the Reverb Deluxe. That's really cool that you can master that effect like that. Very difficult to keep the timing just right.

DetroitBlues Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Drummer DB, drummer! So true.... You do so much with guitar, I forget you are a drummer first sometimes...
