jraad Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Picked this one up from Elderly Instruments yesterday. Made in 2004, plays beautifully, neck is the perfect thickness, and the finish is just lovely!
kidsmoke Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Beautiful 535 jraad!! Is that ASB finish? First Heritage? Tell us all about it! Welcome to the forum!
jraad Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Yup! Almond Sunburst. Its incredibly loud for being a semi-hollow guitar. The Schaller pickups actually sound really nice, and everything feels really solid on it. The condition is actually pristine considering its 8 years old! And yes it is my first Heritage, and I couldn't be more happy!
kidsmoke Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Yup! Almond Sunburst. Its incredibly loud for being a semi-hollow guitar. you mean acoustically, i assume. that's one of the things I loved about my 535 when i got it. The body size makes for great playing while seated, and it's got enough acoustic volume that I can play it unplugged on the couch and noodle without bothering anyone. Great guitars. Enjoy!
FredZepp Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Nice one. I could be happy with one exactly like that. Many players like the Schaller pickups in a semi-hollow. BTW... ASB is Antique Sunburst.. or ALSB would be Almond Sunburst.
DetroitBlues Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Are you from Michigan? Hope you can make it to PSP V and bring that sweet looking guitar with you!
jraad Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Are you from Michigan? Hope you can make it to PSP V and bring that sweet looking guitar with you! Yup! I'm in Michigan. A few hours out of Kalamazoo. When is it? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for strap locks? I normally use Schallers but wanted to see what suggestions you guys around here have.
DetroitBlues Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 the event is August 4th. Where do you live in Michigan? I use Seth Lovers on my Epi Dot. If/when I ever get a 535, I'd probably use them again if I don't like the way the guitar sounds.

Schallers work well but I've ordered a set of these, and will be intalling them next week. Love the design and doesn't leave you with a protrusion like the schallers. German. Go figure. Developed for convertible tops on cars. If they'll hold a canvas "sail" on a car on the autobahn, they'll hold guitar straps.

Do you think the screw hole is going to need any modification?
kidsmoke Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Ahh those look amazing! I'm gonna order some, myself. Do you think the screw hole is going to need any modification? you're guitar looks to be very well cared for. So I suspect whatever is in there hasn't been stripped out or replaced. You'll probably be able to simply remove one and install the other. compare screw diameter before install, if it's much larger, open up the hole a smidge. I'd be stunned if that were necessary, however

skydog52 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Welcome aboard and sweet H-535. 535 bodys are the perfect size!

Went in snugly but easily on the bridge-side strap button, but the neck strap button took a lot more effort to screw in. Other than that, they're low profile, and feel nice and solid! Thanks for the suggestion! Main event is August 3rd. What is the main event?
eljay Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 tour of H factory, followed by party @ The Barn in plainwell.
