RhoadsScholar Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Just got this back from the guitar Doctor. I love the color, playability, wood choice. Nice tight grain. Sounds great. Even Lola likes it (although her facial expression might not show it well).
RhoadsScholar Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 Here are a couple more shots (finally figured out how to do this)
Steiner Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 The more I see, the more I love those naked, ebony fretboards. Yours adds a touch of class to a stunning example.
Millennium Maestro Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 The more I see, the more I love those naked, ebony fretboards. Yours adds a touch of class to a stunning example. I also like the bigger headstock and Imperials tuners... Really a classy guitar. You did well. Thanks again for being a great HOCer
RhoadsScholar Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 There was about 1 1/2 "" of binding slightly unglued on the back upper bout. Hard to see but the previous owner pointed it out. Had it repaired and a good setup. Plays fantastic now and don't have to worry about the separation anymore. The finish/color/ appointments of the Eagle Classic begin to grow on you. I have had a Super Eagle and have a non cutaway golden eagle, both have a lot of bling. Originally, I was thinking of putting inlays but not anymore. Will leave it as is and enjoy (should spend the money I would have spent for the inlays on Lesson DVDs i think).

Hfan Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Beautiful guitar Rhodes and congrats. How do you like the Schallers? I'm thinking they may be a good match for this type of guitar.
Gitfiddler Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 You done good. That is a very inviting archtop. Your dog's expression is priceless!!
Jazzerous Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Very Nice! I have heard that finish called a Viceroy Sunburst! Gorgeous Boyo!!!!!!!!
RhoadsScholar Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 The Schaller's sound really good in a full hollow body. Not as good in a 150/535 style guitar (my humble opinion). The super Eagle I sold/traded had the schaller's in there and they seem to work well.
FredZepp Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 A beautiful Heritage archtop with an enticing warm finish. Anyone would have to love that one.. very inviting to play.
