tsp17 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I just sent Brian a deposit and we are beginning the collaboration on a 35-40 watt jazz head. Single channel, super clean, touch sensitive and warm, portable. Think Princeton Reverb head on steroids or a Super Reverb head. It is gonna be cool. Maybe a matching 1x12 cab is in my future too....
schundog Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 The Vincenator! (In honor of our own Heritage Artist Endorsee, Vince Lewis) Just kidding. Congratulations on the new build, Brian makes GREAT stuff. I love the 5E3 he built for me.
Guest HRB853370 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Super Reverb? Wouldn't that connotate a head that breaks up quickly? Maybe you meant Twin Reverb. Good luck.
DetroitBlues Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Since its not a Princeton, perhaps the Kingston?
barrymclark Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Since its not a Princeton, perhaps the Kingston? Put mine and this one together: Wes'ton! That is a good jazz amp name.
DetroitBlues Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Killer Blackface Princeton 112 or KBP112 Fender made a Princeton 112. It was a solid state POS amp... Hate to associate KBP with that model...

Good luck. well, you are kind of right about that. the idea is a Twin Reverb in a smaller package. I was referring to a Super as a 40 watt Twin style sound. I was not aware that they break up early. Surprised to hear that with 6L6's, but life is full of surprises.

Early breakup depends on the user understanding how the inputs work....
tsp17 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 The Bourbon Street The Blue Note The Take Five i am liking "Blue Note", since that is what i am after, that 60's Blue Note sound (Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, etc.), with the ability to get a little more modern (Peter Bernstein, Mike Moreno and others). Still debating 6550's vs 6L6's. Keep the name ideas coming!

KBP Kalamazoo KBP Detroit KBP Cadillac KBP Pontiac KBP Port Huron KBP Battle Creek KBP Nova KBP Challenger KBP Charger KBP Vette
Guest HRB853370 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Early breakup depends on the user understanding how the inputs work.... Which I, obviously don't!!
kidsmoke Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 KBP Vega - breaks up early KBP Pinto - explosive/high gain Sorry. pilin' on.
DetroitBlues Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Which I, obviously don't!! Just Joshing you Will!
DetroitBlues Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 KBP Vega - breaks up early KBP Pinto - explosive/high gain Sorry. pilin' on. Classic cars in a cool way, not an Epic Fail way...
212Mavguy Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 +1 on the 6550's. Beautiful tube for what you are going to do. Big bottom, crisp top. Best choice from clean headroom standpoint too. Worth the extra weight..
barrymclark Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Classic cars in a cool way, not an Epic Fail way... Mustang II?
DetroitBlues Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Mustang II? Then it would be associated with a Fender Modeling amp.... I mean it could be worse, could call it the KBP Cube or KBP Roland, but I wouldn't want to insult Brian... Just teasing Barry....
212Mavguy Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Back to the OP Is this amp a boy or girl or "it" ?
