brentrocks Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I recently pick up a set of SHAW PAFs, used, and got a great price on them...but i wasnt sure which guitar to put them in. I decided to try them in a 1999 Heritage H 150. WOW!! I have had LPCs with Shaws and i know these are great pickups....but DAMMM the tone that this Heritage puts out is FANTASTIC!!!! These have to be one of the best PAF clones out there!! Take a listen.... http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_13945865
golferwave Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I once had a Gbrand Heritage 80 LP with a set of the Tim Shaw PAF clones and they sounded just as you described. One of the best clones around.
FredZepp Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Nice tone to those. I liked the higher gain sound toward the end, very sweet sustain to that.
Bluesbender75 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 So, I pretty much lust after this particular axe Brent. Mojo for days.
Jazzerous Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 That sounds great Brent and the color on that 150 is scweeeet!!!!
GuitArtMan Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I wonder if my '88 Flame Top RI might have had Shaws in it. I've been through a gazillion after market pickups and can't say I've found anything that sounded better. Different yes, but not better.
