Guest HRB853370 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I can't help but admire the sexy, feminine, flowing contours of the H-150 pickguard. How can anybody argue the elegance of this work of art! Perhaps the batwing pickguard has a more classic look, but the Heritage pickguard is the perfect compliment to the perfect Les Paul styled guitar, handbuilt by the masters!

H Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 My 150's pickguard looks fabulous in the pocket of the hardcase.
bobmeyrick Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 There's a certain similarity to the old Epiphone pickguard -
davesultra Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I've always been "on the fence" regarding the "H" guard. Looks nice on a 157. However, I like a classic "G" guard. On the 150. Just my. 02 .

DetroitBlues Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I think the heat down south is finally getting to Slammer...
Guest HRB853370 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 You guys have no class. Well H if you want to sell it so it doesnt collect further dust, let me know.
NoNameBand Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 While I can agree with the sentiments above, I being more of a classic kind of guy, also enjoy the Classic Kalamazoo design of the classic Les Paul pickguard. I don't think it was wrong then or now though I prefer the Kalamazoo building quality and techniques. We all love Heritage guitars for our own reasons, I am happy to own a guitar that I believe is closer to the original Les Paul intent, quality and build than the modern Gibby clone. I know the name Les Paul belongs to Gibson and I don't care about that, it's more about the tone and feel. I believe that the original intent of Orvil Gibson still lives on today through our friends at Heritage.

JeffB Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I like Heritage pick guards. I had to turn around and look at the H150 to see what one looked like. I dont think Ive really studied it before. Looks good. Sits right. Guards from pick attacks. Two thumbs up from this reviewer.

Thats fine, no argument with that thinking, I was just stating that I firmly believe that when Heritage designed "their own" shape, it came out lovely. For me, it was love at first sight. Very different than the original, classic design, and to me, it flows very nicely. I certainly do not expect everyone to agree with that.

JeffB Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Tully would have said the first thing that popped into his head regardless of how he felt or relevance to the topic at hand. He often played the devils advocate just for the sake of having something to say. Sometimes I agreed with him. You've got no idea how many posts he has tried to make under my name. Ive managed to catch him before he hits the "post" button on most occasions.
JeffB Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 off topic, but I let him run riot over at TGP in the pub section because he fits in well with all the other "special needs" individuals over there.

He was quite the "character" wasn't he? Banned for life from the HOC!
GuitArtMan Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Sorry, I never cared for the Heritage pickguard shape on the 150 or the 535 for that matter. Give me no pickguiard or the classic Kalamazoo (original Gibson) shape.

Gitfiddler Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 The 'standard' 150 Heritage guard does nothing for me either. I do like their bound wood pickguard upgrades on the 157's and some 155's however. Now THAT to me is a very sexy look............but I am an admitted bling hootchie.

The 157 on the other hand I think is classy. ( I'm getting great mileage out of that pic )
