H576 has landed!

This arrived very securely packed with tons of peanuts.

The guitar is 21 years old with a yellowed binding, obvious patina, and a few small dings to attest to its age.

The neck is medium-thin, straight and a shallow D. The frets have almost no wear.

The general feel is that of a 575 with slightly more heft from a thin center block and a heavier bridge and tailpiece. It sounds acoustically just like a 575 to me.

Sometime after it was made the guitar was sent back to Heritage. The wiring harness was upgraded and HRWs were installed. For some reason the 4 point mount system was used- nice but what's the point?

HRWs have always been the bane of me (not the Romney Bain!). I have never been able to tame them. I'll try again.

Tone report later.

Nice acquisition MG. Don't think I've ever seen one.

It's a classic Heritage in finish and the fine woods. And it should be classic Heritage in tone and playablility also.

Enjoy that sweet axe... and good luck taming the HRW's..

Congratulations, Doc! My question is, how are you going to decide which Heritages to bring to PSP?!

Not an issue for him. He lives close to Kalamazoo.

Now that's what I call a choice acquisition. I hope it plays as well as it looks. Can't beat those sunburst Heritage finishes.

My 576 sounds similar to the 575, but slightly less acoustic and more compressed. Where you can really feel the difference is at a live gig. Once the volume goes above a certain level, the 575 gets wimpy where the 576 has a lot more authority in the tone and sustain. My pref is usually the 575 for jazz, but the 576 wins for louder jazz gigs where there might be vocals, two guitars, electric bass, synth and hard hitting drums.
