Hi Folks,

I am a new member to HOC and would like to thank all for the information and knowledge I have gleamed from this site.

I am the proud owner of a H150 after much searching in the UK, and a pointless search in Scotland.

The dealer in London is about $3200 for a new one and £1700 for a used one, considerably more expensive than some beauties I see selling on the HOC site. Oh to live in the USA!

The customs charges and VAT in this country makes importing one from US, not really feasible from a cost point.

Anyway, I am sure now I have started on Heritage guitars, I will no doubt increase my collection. I currently have a range of other guitars and this is my first LP style guitar.

I have attached a photo of the H150, hope it works OK.

Thanks again to all!post-7220-0-70972800-1344192666_thumb.png

Welcome to the fray, flyingscot! Congrats on the 150! By the way, my best friend, who lives here, now, is from Ayr. A right numpty, that yin!

Welcome to the growing UK section of the HOC! Keep checking eBay - Heritages come up and sell for reasonable prices, as I suspect people still don't realise what they are. I managed to get a Vintage Sunburst 150 for £835. It needed a clean and set up, for which my local luthier (Colin Keefe of Long Eaton near Nottingham) charged a reasonable £50 or so. Just be aware that one isn't enough...

Welcome to the HOC, always good to see new people switching onto Heritage no matter where they're from :)

Here's a bit of info I just read today, 80% of the new Heritage are exported. Even at that price on the new market, its still less expensive than a Gibson custom shop and twice as nice.

He has obviously taught you the Scottish :"terms of endearment'!

Thank you for the welcome

Hi,

They may well be exported, but not many find their way here! They are a lovely guitar.

Thanks

Hi,

Many thanks. My boys stay in Brentwood and my friend owns a bar in Chelmsford, so often in Essex.

Hi there,

Yes they to come up, but some are questionble! A good guitar tech is worth their weight in gold.

I am fortunate that I know Jimmy Egypt and Jimmy Moon who are both major luthiers that work for many major, well-known professional guitarists and bands!

My first H150CM shown is now set up to top notch standards, without changing the original build. I thought about changing PUs etc, but argue with myself frequently about it.

I read mods on here and wonder all the time!

Hi,

Yes Jimmy does some lovely work. Unfortunately as his reputation increases in stature, so do his prices.

I have known Jimy a lot of years and his work is superb, both in appearance and performance- a true expert.

Jimmy Egypt does set ups for many major bands:

Not a bad client list!!!!

Welcome flyingscot!

To be sure, that is a nice 150 you have! I really wish solid bodies and I still agreed with each other but, for whatever reason, I have just grown to love the thump and clean of a hollow. Lots of good values you\'ll find on here.

Welcome again!
