Keith7940236 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I just received my pick guard with the Kent Armstrong Floater in the mail today and re installed it on my new Golden Eagle. What a glorious sound!!! I am blown away at the sweet, full sound of this pup!! The pick guard had the original pup on it with a 100K pot. Kent took the guts out, installed a special wound unit, replaced the original with a 500K pot and shipped it back. I just had a chance to play it and all I can say is WOW.
RhoadsScholar Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I had the same experience (he was not a fan of the Heritage #3 pickup) and got mine rebuilt with a new Pot. The sound difference in unbelievable. Everyone would do this if they heard these side by side. For the price he charges, Heritage should consider using his pickups as standard on their floaters.... Glad you liked yours and add my reply as a big fan of Kent Armstrong's work.
