Keith7940236 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Last week was pretty active on the guitar front for me. I sold my Prospect and my Eagle TDC. I was able to acquire the Ampeg amp that I already posted about in the amplification section, but I also purchased this beautiful H575 Custom. It has maple back and sides and a spruce top. The neck is a little chunkier than my GE and is very comfortable to play. I really like the smaller body size and the shorter scale. I put a set of TI Swing 12's on it and the sound is really warm and clean.
tulk1 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Hey Keith ... now that is a worthy replacement for the Prospect. What a gorgeous plank.
FredZepp Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 That looks like a guitar that I'd probably play acoustically a lot , just because it's got a great unplugged tone. And hopefully a nice clean pickup to amplify that great tone if at a gig . Nice one !
Keith7940236 Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 I haven't looked at the pickup yet so I don't know what it is. I do have a Kent Armstrong I'm thinking of installing.
MartyGrass Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I do like the H575 with spruce. Let me comment on the thin neck of the GE. Many jazz players of the 50s onward preferred a thin neck for using their thumb to fret.
Trouble Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I really like that, I've never really wanted an arch top but we have been talking about doing some straight acoustic restaraunt, coffe house type gigs, might be an excuse to cheat and buy an arch top! That one is really classy!
Spook410 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I like the spruce. Great finish for a classic guitar. Congrats!
Steiner Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 The 575 customs are beautiful guitars. Yours is no exception. However, yours having the spruce top on the maple sides and back is unique. That would be an interesting study. Cool guitar; enjoy her!
schundog Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 That's a whole lot of moving and shaking of your guitar collection! Congratulations on your new guitar and amp, that 575 is beautiful.
hotfordcoupe Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I didn't know they made the 575 with a floater. That's one gorgeous instrument. Congrats.

I believe that's the Custom 575 with the spruce top I tried to buy from the young player who'd advertised it on Seattle craigs. I'd offered him near his asking price months ago, he declined. Well months passed with no sell, and having given up on him 2 weeks ago I noticed that same guitar was listed for hundreds less than his initial $1800 asking price, and far below what I'd previously offered the seller. I was a day late seeing the price reduction, but you got one exceptional deal. I'm assuming it's the same guitar because it too was a spruce top with a floater...same color...if I remember correctly it was advertised as an '06 or '07 model 575. Mega congrats on one beautiful 575 and a sweet buy to boot!!! That floater sure looks like a Heritage #3 to me. Another HOC member recently informed me that KA (kent armstrong) does one very exceptional and very affordable mod to that #3 pickup...it might be in your interest to check it out and contact KA.
DetroitBlues Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Love that style of cutaway and that's a cool looking tailpeice!
