MIK Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Hi guys, my friend wants to buy a heritage h-140 GT. seller says that the guitar with chamberred body. I have not seen these guitars live in our area and have no information about this series. tell me, are these guitars with chambered or solid body?
HANGAR18 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Heritage has the ability to chamber a solid body guitar upon request if someone special orders one. I'm under the impression that H140's are not typically chambered. But, it has the same thickness of a H110 which is often chambered. Ask the seller for a picture of the data plate under the pot cover and see if they included the letters "LW" meaning light weight in the model designation for that guitar.
TalismanRich Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I can't recall seeing a 140LW before. With them being slightly thinner than a 150, its usually much lighter to start with. Once you remove the control plate, if its chambered, you'll should be able to see the chamber itself. Heritage doesn't "swiss cheese" the body. Its a proper carved area. Have him take a photo if you can.

DetroitBlues Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Have the seller loosen the strings and remove a pickup. Then ask for a picture inside the pickup cavity to see if its really chambered. Being a 140, it is significantly thinner, therefore lighter than a 150 or a normal Les Paul.
MIK Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 before we buy this Heri I will check it out. i will write here what will I see in it.

MIK Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Being thinner may be why the person is claiming its chambered or light weight (LW designation). maybe. but my friend dont want a chamberred body, thats why i need to be sure that it has a solid body.
brentrocks Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 i would wager that this guitar is NOT chambered
MIK Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 i would wager that this guitar is NOT chambered i hope you're right
DetroitBlues Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 i hope you're right He most likely is. The body of the 140 is so thin, I don't think its possible nor necessary.
brentrocks Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 if you chambered a H 140, it would weigh like.......2 lbs
